That's my point. They're not being developed, as players.

And you expect a new staff to do that in 7 weeks?

We've had what, 3 penalties the past 2 games combined? Thats pretty good imo. Huge turnaround in team discipline

I'd be satisfied with improvement, not regression. It's pretty simple.

The penalty issue is greatly improved, no doubt.

Are we improving on defense or getting worse?

Are we making any adjustments, scheme or personel wise, to improve the defense?

What a coincidence it must be that virtually ALL those blue chip 4 and 5 star recruits on Florida's roster suck. Every single on of them?
I just don't understand how this is possible.

Fk the "rankings" I watch with my eyes and I dont see many 1 on 1s being won by our guys. Youd think with Dexter being dbl teamed that other guys like the ones you listed on the DL would be able to make plays. Its not happening

The rankings are what they are. They seem to matter to every other football team, except ours. I'm just frustrated like everyone else.

I don't understand why virtually all of our blue chip players underperform. It makes no sense.

I want to see it too but its tough having the mix of bad old players n inexperienced young players both in a new scheme.

I'm not ready to fire anybody at this point, but if we're having this convo same time next season with more new kids on the team then ill raise my eyebrows towards the staff.

We need continuity not turnover. The effort is better and the "what was he thinking" penalties are down significantly.

It's a small sample size, but Napier's players are better and he's not a lazy recruiter like Mullen.

Stay the course.

Edit to add: Khaleil Jackson should be kicked off the team today. Napier needs to send a message that the culture is more important than legacy.

We need to wait and see how they respond after this game.

It will be interesting to see if they quit on the season like all of Mullen's teams tended to do once things got hard and all they had left to play for was pride.

Side note - I live in Houston, Texas. It feels like the Aggies are in a similar place, but they are five years in with Jimbo and really no exit route in sight. Of course their problem is offense, not defense. But the point is we aren't alone in having good talent that just isn't performing. At least we are in Year 1 instead of Year 5.

This tean is a head scrather....everyone knows I am an opmismt but even I am not happy.

We have talent, just not not enough. The few good ones arent enough.

The future is bright though and Napier is a recriter.

Napier has a lot to learn.

Toney is a question mark, but early indications are not looking good.

However, I completely agree.

Dan might have done some good things that Muschamp and Mac couldn't, but overall was the worst hire of the 3.

At least with the first two, there was a question about their potential. Mullen has a track record of being a 4-7 loss coach annually minus a year or two with Prescott. He was well on his way to continuing that once he started getting his players onto the roster.

Muschamp left behind an elite defense. Mac left behind Trask, Toney, and Pitts (and potentially Corral if Mullen hadn't chased him away).

Mullen left behind Cox, Dean, and AR (who is 50/50- good/bad). I thought the Mullen hiring was a disaster when announced and we're now having to deal with the repercussions of it.
