I at least appreciate it when we post things on the new thread page so I don't have to backtrack and look around at everything.
That being said, I could believe that he's waiting for another year of his buyout -- and don't worry other Gators fans.
While I'm gonna say ''it's pretty much all but done'', there are still snags. The chances of Kelly coming to Florida are extremely high, and about all of the people 'in the know' (those without dates) are anywhere from 85 - 98% certain.

Florida athletic administrators kicked up their courting of former Oregon coach Chip Kelly into another gear when they got on a plane to New Hampshire on Sunday.
Florida went up with a party — including athletic director Scott Stricklin and school president Kent Fuchs — to meet with Kelly. The UCLA job opened as they were en route, and a source close to the hiring process told SB Nation that interest in Kelly by UCLA is real, but that at this time there is no meeting scheduled between the Bruins and Kelly.
Multiple sources close to the hiring process between Kelly and Florida confirmed that there is no offer or terms from UF on the table, and the sources also stated that the party who went to meet with Kelly did not have an assumption that they would come back with a deal signed for Kelly to be Florida’s next coach. Bringing Fuchs was simply part of Florida’s hiring process, per the sources.

That is absolutely retarded if you believe one word of that.
EDIT: You think they flew out to NH without an offer or any terms drawn up?
Come on, man, I know you're skeptical but this is beyond silly.

Noway they took the Prez and the lady who does their contracts up to Kellys place just to shoot the shite.
Imo they have an agreement, just waiting to be signed when Kelly gets his pro $$

But why would they fly out there secretly from Ocala on a Sunday if they haven't talked the Florida job over with Chip Kelly and they met his fricking agents earlier in search and officially vetted him (unofficially they probably started much earlier) a while ago, too, to have no fricking deal on the table at all and they haven't even ''offered him''? Such a stupid article.

Yeah its dumb.
SS said dont trust anything you hear. But the facts are, they have been talking and vetting, and that they took the Prez and the ppl who work their contracts to Chips place for 2-3 hours and came home in a chipper mood.
Hell Scott even took a few to talk to ppl waiting at the airport. How cool is that? You dont do that when you just let your big fish get away

A lawyer on TOS says that a contract can be signed by both parties but not executed until a future date which would protect Kelly’s NFL money, but would also lock Kelly into to UF and lock UF into Kelly. With this coupled with what the insiders are saying that it’s a done deal, the conclusion over on TOS is that Kelly and UF officials HAVE signed the contract, but it simply can’t be executed until after the FSU game to protect Kelly’s $5 million in NFL money. And UF definitely does not want to announce it until the contract is fully executed and in effect. The lawyers opinion is that announcing a signed but not fully executed contract may muddy the waters and give an opening for the NFL teams to not pay Kelly the $5 mil. Basically no reason to rush the announcement when they already have a signed and binding contract in hand. Also the legal explanation of the NFL clause is that Kelly can’t work for another college or NFL team during that team’s season or he doesn’t get paid the $5 million however once our regular season is over, he is good to go. This also most likely means that we will not accept a bowl invite if beating FSU makes us bowl eligible if going to a bowl would delay the execution of the contract until after the bowl game. And also the mods over on TOS believe that report from Buddy Martin (the $5 million NFL story) was likely fed to him by Stricklin or another UAA official in order to calm Gator Nation and walk everyone back from the ledge. They say that Buddy has been plugged into Gator athletics for decades and he doesn’t report garbage. They believe that the most likely source for that kind of information in regard to the NFL money likely came from the top or very close to it. This all lines up with what TG and insiders here have been saying. Just another source. All signs point to an announcement after the FSU game sometime this weekend or possibly on Monday.

Bruin insider who worked in the athletic department said, and I quote:
''No meeting has taken place with Chip and I have serious doubts it happens''
