Meanwhile another Spread Offense is putting up points on the vaunted Saban / Smart defense

If it is indeed Kelly who is named tomorrow -- the East is downright fricked.
I knew Georgia was way, way, way overrated. I called it from the beginning of the year. Smart is literaly their Muschamp. ''If we can't run the ball, we're fricked''. That offense only works if the run game is established and it's why I hate that style of offense.
We back if it's Kelly tomorrow and he'll be successful immediately.

If it is Kelly, how long until he bolts for the NFL again?

Pretty sure we're gonna have some failsafes in place just in case. I think he's going to have to work up his brand, too, to be quite honest.
If it is Kelly, just think of the classes he's going to bring in. shite, his name alone will get us a few big fish.

He would have to either win a NC or 3 SEC titles in a row to get another NFL gig. He was 2-14 his last season in the NFL and was turned down for OC positions in the NFL after he was fired.

if we wins big enough here for the nfl to come calling then who cares if he goes back.

If its ANY successful HC, does he not answer that call??
I'll take 4-5 years of Kelly winning titles before getting another shot

At this point, too, I think he'll change his mind about college football.
I understand why he didn't like recruiting out at Oregon.
''Hay guys, Eugene Oregon is great. Lots of pretty girls over here hyuk.''
No one would like that job, and it would be pretty hard -- but if you can make it at the college level, you can have a pretty sweet deal.
The good news is that with his name alone, we can get recruits for his offense. Easy. No problem. It will be a really easy job in a talent rich state in a respected conference.
I wouldn't be surprised if he retired at Florida, or if he went to the NFL eventually to try his bolster his legacy.

If it's Chip - please GOD let it be - I think he'll be here for a long time. You know he loves watching his offense carve up defenses the way its built to. In the NFL, a bunch of entitled millionaires arent going to let you run them in the ground. Plus roster sizes dont allow HUNH offenses to be all they can be.
