Whether it's Mac taking over playcalling or
Giving your redshirt freshman fricking QB more than 9 pass attempts in 2.5 quarters. And then benching him after one mistake and not letting him take his lumps. AND THEN benching him down 26-17 when we NEED to pass the ball, and replacing him with the running quarterback. It makes absolutely zero sense.
This was the first time in our three years under Mac that there was no offensive gameplan. No receivers running all over the field open. Nuss was dead set on running the ball into 8 or 9 man fronts, and refused to give Franks the opportunity to test them or make them pay. I don't understand.
The days of making excuses for the lack of players are over. This is on Jim McElwain and only Jim McElwain to fix. I'm not going to jump off the ledge and call for his firing, but something better change with the offense, and it better change fast. That was a fricking embarrassment to our University. Nine months to prepare, nine months of getting tougher and stronger, nine months of "best OL we've had" talk, nine months of we have a plan, and that garbage arse gameplan was the best we could come up with? Absolutely totally unacceptable. No more "we don't have the players" excuse. We didn't have the play calling yesterday. Period.
On the defensive side, they played well in my opinion. I was there in person and haven't rewatched (not sure yet if I'm going to), but I saw two bad busts, one they scored on and one that was incomplete. I was impressed with the defensive line and loved what I saw from our young linebackers and young secondary for the most part. I thought we lost contain bad on the edges at times but that's just part of growing up and I think we'll be fine there.
On an unrelated note, the Gator fans in Dallas were incredible, you could tell how badly they all wanted this game and it sucks that all of us are as disappointed as we are. I'm just sick of bad offense.
I'll tell you this much- Mac better HOPE he does not lose to Tennessee in two weeks. He better hope we don't. And he better hope we come out and hang 50+ on Northern Colorado next weekend like we should. I'm sick of the same old bullshite.

Uh... Arkansas and FSU last year were pretty good red flag indicators in case you forgot.

Thats why I said Franks must start the next game, we must run the other team out of the swamp by halftime. This team needs a boost
If not, its gonna be a long season

Unless Nuss has a complete turnaround and puts together a consistent string of wins where the offense actually looks like a functioning offense - not this get a lucky break for a touchdown and a field goal and the defense wins the game for you crap - Mac better make a change or he may be the change.

Arkansas we played with an injured quarterback and had guys open that Del rio was incapable of getting the ball to. It's on Mac for not taking him out, but the gameplan wasn't *AS* terrible in that game. We had a plan and called some plays that could've worked on offense and didn't execute. The defense got beat up too.
FSU we had guys open all game and Appleby didn't have time to throw it, or missed it when he did have time to throw it.
They didn't give Franks a chance to take his lumps. 5-9 for 75 yards isn't horrible. 2-4 on deep balls. 2 good throws, one was a slight overthrow, and one was a great defensive play that maybe could've used a little more arc but was a great defensive play nonetheless. The dudes a redshirt freshman making his first career start against a pretty salty, aggressive defense. I don't understand not taking advantage of their aggressiveness by being aggressive ourselves. We coached scared and that is so disappointing.

Was just telling my Dad this. The loyalty to Nuss needs to go out the window. Loyalty to Nuss doesn't do Mac any good when he's jobless after next year if something doesn't change drastically.

More excuses. It's Mac. It's Mac's offense. Mac chose Nuss and Davis. Unfortunately he's here until his buyout becomes manageable.

Atl...be prepared for a possible loss to UT if we start Franks...we only scored 3 fricking points in the game and you want him left in there?? WTF.
Del Rio is calm and stays in the pocket and knows the damn offense, Zaire made no damn sense down two scores. Just remember without the defense we only scored 3 POINTS and you want more of the same?
No thanks.

Frank's was not the issue . The OL and play calling were the problems . We need to play the QB that can make us the best for the year and that's Frank's. Del Rio sucks and should never see start again unless both freshmen are injured.
