A high school QB could execute a quick middle screen and all he has to do is throw 10 feet...have RB/TE/RB at the line of scrimmage which makes it legal for OL to be blocking downfield. A convoy of OL/TEs blocking in front of receiver.

Oh ...did ANYONE watch the Miss State game in the TaxSlayer bowl? Moo St had horrible special teams play...just in case you didn't know.

Maybe because it's like half of their coaching staff wasn't present?

C'mon, man.

Miss State had good special teams this year. The bowl wasn't reflective of the entire season. They usually never are.

Our special teams can only get better...we had the worst ST cord in sports. And S&C. And OC. And TE coach.

God damn that staff sucked

Oh, and half of MSU's coaching staff wasn't present for a while.

If you actually watch their games, their special teams was pretty solid all year.

Sunseri is following a lot of 'cruits on the Tweeter.

Urban Meyer was the man behind those offenses. Meyer changed The offense to fit leak. The offense works great when you have a bruising QB who can run and a ton of talent. Not so well if you dont. Mullen hasn't changed his scheme at all since his days with Meyer. He still runs the power spread option. We're gonna have a ton growing pains. It will be interesting to see how well Emory does because he's not the typical QB Mullen' s system uses. Unless he packs on 30+ lbs. I can't wait to get back to the fastest team in the US. I think given time and some stacked classes CDM can do that.

Mullen adapted his offense for Tyler Russell at MSU.

Mullen at MSU had to recruit QBs that everyone looked at as TEs because he was at MSU. Now he should be able to go after top level guys.

UF's offense was not as good the year after Mullen left. Those 2006 - 2008 offenses were not all Meyer. Mullen had a huge role in them.

I do agree that there will be a ton of growing pains. 2017 UF football was charmin soft. Mentally and physically soft. That does not change overnight.

I'm just saying it sounds like some are making it seem like Mullen made Meyer. Urban is 124-22 with 4 CCs and a NC. Meyer is a master at finding great staffs. His offenses when given a year are all top 50. In fact Addazio beat Mullen in every category except scoring. Who was recruiting Dak or Fitzgerald as a TE? Never heard that. I agree completely this team is weak. 6-8 wins is the ceiling imo. Mullen has a lot to fix. I think he'll get it done if he can bring in Balanced elite classes and fix some of his decision making.

No one's saying Mullen made Meyer.

We're saying that the offense took a distinct nosedive after he left, which is true. Mullen's a good offensive mind, most people thought Dak Prescott would play Safety and he ended up as a really good QB.

The offense in 2009 was the same in every category or better in except one, scoring. The '10 sucked because Meyer quit.

The reason Florida's stats weren't quite as gaudy as they could have been in 2008 is we were done by half time in many games and just ran the ball. Only threw 21 times a game. We scored like Gods when we wanted too after the Ole Miss game once we reorganized how we used Demps and Rainey.
