I know its BR but this is a pretty damn good article. It talks about how coaches hired new hotshot coordinators and never really let em do their thing and how it led to their demise.

It's a good article, but I don't think Muschamp ever micro-manged while he was here. I think he told Weis and Pease his vision for the offense (physical run game with play action passing, possibly erring on side of conservatism to not mess up the defense), but I don't think he really ever vetoed them.

It's really hard to accurately gauge how much of our offensive woes were really because of Muschamp's alleged conservative offensive philosophy. On one hand, the offense has been dreadful for 3 years, and we've had enough talent on offense to be rated better than the 100s.

On the other hand, the first year was a transition year with an average QB who got injured and average WRs. The second year was with a raw rookie QB and still not many WR threats, and our best offensive player was an RB. The third year, we had so many injuries, especially on offense.

What you can blame Muschamp on is lack of offensive recruiting his first two years here (esp in OL and WR), but that has gotten better.

Its a bunch of hooey...Boom didn't alter OCs gameplans anymore than most BCS team HCs. college football is organized and thoughtout. Gameplans are gone over during the week with a lot of input from position coaches.

Remember...Booms first year in 2011 we had Brantley go down early and no running game other than two scatback speed guys....making bit tough on QBs. In 2012 we had seldom used RB shoulder the load with basically a frosh QB in Driskel and no WRs....our special teams and defense were the best in the country though.
