56 is also DT Slaton and if he does come back (he was a sr) I would do a back flip. He and Campbell were bellcows that stopped inside runs usually unless they were double teamed.

Delance in all fairness did improve a lot from his pitiful performance in 2019 and his return would not be a bad thing, especially if he improved even more from all the snap experience he has had.

Our weak link was our RG who constantly was pushed around and slow to pull on counter plays. A sr...hopefully he leaves. 6'6 350 and was a pu**y.

The DL is one of my main concerns...we need elite players who will make second teamers out of some. Truthfully you have to have rotations in the DL....easy to tire out and they need to get relief spells. Having Moon and Cartwer helps a lot, but we need monsters in the middle. Dexter will start to become a force...but he is still learning. Need nose tackles who will eat offensive linemen for a snack.

I just don't get how other teams can have young first yr players blow up yet we always have to wait a few years..

Like Diabate came off the bench as a FR and had 3 sacks in one game. that was it....

Mullen has a detrimental loyalty to upperclassmen.

We have added 2 DL transfers Antonio Shelton and Daquan Newkirk.

That should help.

IM pretty sure Slaton is gone...but havent seen official news that he is. Shelton & Newkirk are a blessing. Makes me feel a little better about this year.

I watch a lot of SEC football (and other teams too) and if a team has a porous DL they are toast...South Carolina was victim to a good run game. AU didnt have the beef on the DL as they did in 2019 and it gave Gus his walking papers. And it didnt help that Nix is not ready for prime time and imo I think many on the team resent him some because he was handed the job and has caused a few Ls. AU had no imagination in the passing game and maybe Gus was too stubborn to develop one. In 2019 they wasted two first rounders on the DL cause Nix couldnt (or didnt know how) hit the broadside of a barn.

The 2019 team reminded me of UF in the late 1980s...great defense, but no offense except for Emmitt left, right or up the middle...we had awful QB play and teams just stacked the line to stop Emmitt. Thank God Spurrier came to Florida and immediately added offense to a damn good defense.
