Perkins had a career high of four touchdown passes against "DBU", worse yet?
Three of them came in the Red Zone.
This team was no where near the level they should be playing at consistently.

We should have blown them out, but this is bowl football in the play off age.
One team on the field in these NY6 games probably came damn close to the playoffs and had to settle for a consolation prize. The other at least gets to come in and play for an upset against a team that is supposed to beat them.
That being said, we looked pretty bad, but I don't think we phoned it in. Everyone seemed to play hard, but there just wasn't the same urgency you see when you are in the hunt, especially after a month off.

I’m not calling for anyones job or anything. But we lack killer instinct vs teams like this where we should have the backups playing in the late 3rd qtr.

Nah, man, we had lazy players all over the field just not producing and an even worse game plan. I'm not sure why Dan Mullen's pass selection is like 70% downfield when we have so many different passes outside of the slant.
We tried the slant like six times where we threw it to the defense knowing it was coming. I also don't feel like our WRs particularly fight for the ball.
On defense it's just a hot mess.

Elam looked like our best DB tonight and he's a true freshman. I'm grateful for what these guys are giving us for the season, but man in the three most important games our defense has been horrendous.

This was a very disappointing win I wasn't expecting us to score 60 but thought this would have been a 41 - 17 type win boy how bad the secondary looked without CJ I've been complaining about dean all year and he has deserved it just terrible back there good news is at least we have Wilson & Elam and hopefully kimbrough and Stewart can improve.
Why did Toney only get 2 touches did not even look like they tried to get him the ball.
It's a win and hopefully this O line can make leaps and bounds improvement going into next year because that is the biggest thing holding the gators back at this point and time

None of it schematically made sense, and that's why this is so frustrating. We have this outrageously good playmaker in Toney and I get it.
I get it, he doesn't run the right routes. But we can't get him on a drag? A hook? He can't even catch screens? The guy should touch it at least

10 times a game. Sweeps, reverses, screens, drag routes, anything. JUST GET HIM THE BALL. If he gets hurt, okay, it's a rough sport, but I feel like he could at least open things up.

Straws we dont agree on much but on this I 100% agree.
Toney has been in this offense for 2 years now if he isn't running the right routes this is 100 % on Mullen and Gonzales.
Its makes absolutely no sense for Toney to only get 2 touches and I may be wrong but I believe those were the only 2 plays he was on the field for and if that is the case then for sure the defense definitely was looking for it.
Just terrible on Mullen and the whole offensive staff if this is the case

Its the LAST game of the year... I'm all for wanting our team to improve but have a beer and enjoy a W. We have all off-season to argue over what needs to change.

I'm a really optimistic fan, but Mullen has...really just sort of looked completely lost in a few games.
The good news is that even when we're not sharp we're still dominating.
The bad news is that the defense has been getting worse. Even with our best players on the field, Grantham has been found out.
Worst of all, Grantham...hasn't done what he does best in blitzing and playing press man. What a bizarre way to end the season.

Ppl say how bad Dean is and how bad our safeties are in one breath and then say play Man in the other. I dont get it
TG has done all he can with this group. Yes LSU and UGA were tough but when blitzing n stunting and still get zero passrush vs talent like that youre in for a rough day.

Heading back to Gainesville.
Thoughts on the game:
We were sloppy as shite. Most of the players probably thought we could sleep walk and destroy them despite the coaches telling them otherwise.
But I’ll take the win. Never a bad thing to win a bowl, even if you should blow out the other team. I never felt like we might lose, so there’s that. It happens in bowl games that one team plays better than they have all season. With a month to prepare, they can scheme (see their trick plays) and score more than expected. They only had a week to prepare for Clemson, so that comparison is awful.
Oh, and Finch, looks like you sat very close to me. I was about 15 rows up in section 138.
Go Gators and Happy New Year! Looking forward to next season!
