I think the offensive has finally found some cohesion, and I think we open it up against an overrated Ole Miss team.
5 turnovers and can only win by one possession? Their miracles are all out.
31 - 17 Gators.

Ole Miss this year unlike Tennessee has shown they play tough in all 4 quarters. Here is their point breakdown per quarter
I watched them damn near collapse against not only Alabama, but also against Vanderbilt. If Vandy didn't get unlucky on a kick catch interference, they may have won.
Ole Miss pulled away in the end, but they almost blew two fourth quarter leads.
quote:
They may only have 3 sacks but they have 28 tackles for loss which is just as good as a sack and 7 ints which leads the SEC.
They got almost half of those against Alabama -- on Bama's worst game in a long time.
quote:
They are 20/21 in the redzone scoring TDs on 15 of those 20.
The Rebels' red zone offense was particularly bad. Ole Miss had to settle for three field goal attempts when inside Vanderbilt's 20. Two were made and one was blocked, which helped keep the Commodores in the game much longer than most expected.
And man, you watch the game? It's horrible. There was a time where they had 6 plays inside the five and couldn't get it beyond VANDY.
quote:
Tennessee sacked us 3 times (8 total) and have 25 tackles for loss total. 4 ints
Ole Miss has three all season.
quote:
Since everyone is using the Tenn game as the we arrived game. The stats prove Tennessee is inferior to Ole Miss in almost every part of the game.
Tennessee played Bowling Green, Oklahoma and us (a decent team. (Leaving out FCS)
Ole Miss played Fresno State, Alabama and Vanderbilt.
Bowling Green has beaten Purdue and Maryland, which may not sound like much but:
Fresno State just lost to San Jose State.
Vanderbilt, without a blocked punt would have made it a game.
Vanderbilt.
Alabama had to turn it over 5 times for Ole Miss to win, and we're not even sure if Alabama is even all that good at this point. (I bet you guys Georgia beats them.)
Ole Miss padded its stats against far less talent than Tennessee, and if Vanderbilt can play them to the wire, why not us or Tennessee? Vanderbilt's offense is way, way, way worse than ours.
Upset alert on full blast for this game, although I don't want to jinx us.

Vandys offense is worse than most middle school offenses in Florida....it hurts my eyes to watch them with the ball.

I feel the same as you.
Vandy intercepted Ole Miss at their 19 yard line down 4 points with 9 mins left in the game. They couldn't put it in the end zone and missed a 32 yard FG to make it a 1 point game. Sure, it could have been a trap game, but it showed they're not this dominant team people are making them out to be. Alabama is an unknown, Fresno is 1-3, and their other victory is an 0-2 FCS school. So they beat up on some terrible teams, squeaked by a 1-3 Vandy, and beat Bama by 6 on 5 turnovers.
I think both DLs will get in the backfield and force some bad throws, it will come down to who takes care of the ball.
UF 27
OM 24

We win 77-7.
5-0 record on the way to 15-0.

I think Bama is the better team. And the win was a fluke.

Who's O-line is better ours or Bama? I bet 98% of analysts would say Bama.

Do teams ever play down to their competition? Remember last time we played Ole Miss in the swamp the game shouldn't of been close. Point is on 21 trips to the redzone they have gotten a TD on 15 of those trips which is close to tops in the nation. And if we trade FG's for TD's we are screwed. Heck FG for FG we might be screwed with our kickers.

Isn't a tackle for loss just as good as a sack? Its a negative play that you lose a down on. So they have 28 TFL's and Tenn has 25 to me that is better.
Bama is still Bama and they played them in Bama. I agree the game was a fluke but they won. The fact they have scored around 60+ points total in every quarter this year is 180 degrees from Tennessee. Tennessee proved they can get an early lead and not score in the second half to hold it. Ole Miss has done the opposite.
I think you may think I am saying we have no shot to win but I do think we have a chance in this game. But we cant turn the ball over and we cant let them have a big lead going into halftime. But only scoring 14 on Kentucky, the ECU game coming down to a play where the ball flys out of the QB's hand and another epic collapse by Tennessee hasn't shown me much offensively that makes me think we can compete in a scoring competition and that's what Ole Miss does. Defense will keep us in most games but that's a mindset I associate with Muschamp. I want to be able to see the team win a game against a quality opponent where we don't rely on the defense to win. When we do that I will get more optimistic. I agree Will played great in the 4th quarter against Tennessee but the defense won us that game with getting a Turnover when we needed it and getting us the ball back again late in the 4th quarter.

The problem is: When it's Vandy, Fresno State and directional tech Walgreen's Pickup League State -- of course your stats are going to look phenomenal.
Then you watch the Bama game and how they struggled in the red zone.
Then you watch the Vandy game and how they struggled in the red zone (hard).
And no, a TFL =/= Sack.
Henry looked slow. Alabama in general looked slow, and they have no quarterback. That kid looked infinitely worse than Clutch Time Grier. In fact, if Bama had Grier, they may have actually won that game.
The interceptions were from horrible QB play, or receivers just forgetting their routes.
Just telling you, you can't stat it up with Ole Miss because, for all intents and purposes:
They've only played one real game this year against Alabama and needed several (not just one) miracles to win.
Without the miracles, they lose to Vanderbilt, too.
Even if you "Play to your level", Vanderbilt lost to Western Kentucky and were in a position to beat Ole Miss.
This isn't your run-of-the-mill middle tier team coming into Ole Miss Territory, this is a complete bottom feeder, that, for a large part of the game, played on Ole Miss' level.
We have a damn good shot at home to complete the upset. All we have to do is not turn the ball over and pray that they don't get anymore bizarre kick catch interference helmet bouncing five turnover miracles going their way and we could walk away with a win.

Reel, your argument that ut and uk teams were "extra motivated" is total bullshite and you know it. If they were extra motivated to break the streaks we were just as motivated to continue the streaks.
In terms of your thoughts that make sense, you're right about our o-line. They did do a good job against UT. I personally think it will be a good unit by the end of the year. The issue I see is that ole Miss is better across the board defensively than UT, and I'm not sure our o-line is ready.
What scares me most are the number of turnovers they have created. Qb pressure can still lead to positive defensive plays even if no sack occurs, and I think this is what ole Miss excels at.
Besides anything my negativity has directly correlated to 4-0 so by god I'm going to continue to be negative!!

You're wrong...I dont know it. Go take a long walk on a short pier.
If you think your negativity is helpful...then you are a real winner. If thats the case...how about a disclaimer at the end of your replies or posts? Or that jinxs us? I am being super positive because I think it helps us win.

For ya'll talking about Vandy almost beating OM just remember these 2 scores.
28-21 and 23-17.
The scores of the UF Vandy games from 96 and 06. Vandy has a way of slowing down the game and making you play to their level. Also we had just beat BAMA on the road. Of course we were down.

I dont discount Vandy at all. But dont discount UK or even East Carolina, both played hard....our defense really took UK behind the woodshed. In my opinion Kelly is fixing to get skull fricked in front of 90,000.
Our pass rush is deceptive. With a four man front we usually can pressure qbs which opens up covering receivers. When we do rush five or seldom six...we may send anyone...LB or safety usually...and its disguised pretty well.

They did not lose to a Western Kentucky like team that year.
In fact, they played close to Arkansas, Alabama, Us and beat Georgia that year.
Tellin' you right now: Vandy ain't even gonna beat Tennessee, Kentucky, Mizzou, really, I don't know if they're going to get an SEC win this year.
Georgia beat them 31 - 14 , three possessions.
Ole Miss was lucky to get two possessions on them.

I'd like to see the weather kinda wet so their passing game may not be a good. I hope our DE's can contain Kelly and force him into bad throws or try to run up the middle. If the DB's can stay tough it will help big time. They have big, tall receivers.
I hope for a win but won't be surprised if we lose. The only way I see a win is if it's a close game. Say 28-27 UF.

Maybe my negativity is wasted but I think it's more accurate and worthwhile than posting inane bullshite about going 15-0 when there are so many gaping holes in our team. It's drivel like that that make message boards shitty. But you keep doing you hoss.

exactly what i've been thinking all week.
om throws a few picks against our defense. we end up punting a lot but capitalize off turnovers. this is the game where kelly's gunslinger mentality comes back and bites em.
uf - 23
om - 20
