State and Tennessee are probably on the same level. We both got them at home, and we could have run the score up.
Gus had his starting QB start the 4th Quarter, Jones played the entire 4th quarter and we just tried to run out the clock.
We could have hung a whole hell of a lot more on both of these teams the previous two weeks. We're just not pieces of shite.

Straws State and tenner are not on the same level State would beat tenner about like we did man Georgia state lost to ULL today and the only teams that the gators have beaten with a winning record are UT Martin & Towson
South Carolina is embarrassing tucky right now these are all going to be tough. coming out of these next 4 games at 2-2 will be very difficult I would love too tell you all we will win all 4 but in no way do I see that happening.

State is better than Tenn but State shot themselves in the foot very quickly and were out of the game in five minutes. Never put up a fight.

State as they were before the game, sure.
State after losing their best defensive player, no.
We would obliterate this State team, too.
Especially if we kept our QB starting in the 4th quarter.

Auburn is a different beast. Their defensive strength exposes our biggest weakness. Nervous is a fair thing to be. I still think we win...but it's going to be a game that cost me a few years of my life probably
As for Towson..maybe two posters said we wouldnt dominate?
Also are you ignoring how you were dead wrong about blowing out UK and Miami for some reason?

It's going to come down to coaching. State probably does suck. The only reason anyone here thinks of them as anything more than a bottom dweller is because of the guy who is now our HC and to some extent the guy who is our AD. They are returning to their mean. I wouldn't read too much into the whole common KY opponent thing either.
I haven't really watched Auburn play, but I'm sure they are quite good. I would also guess they have more depth than us, but we're returning everyone but Toney. I won't say we'll win, but if we are getting better anywhere, we should be competitive in this game.
There's no excuse for Auburn kicking out arse at home. If we are even close to who we think we are, this should be a game. It will suck to lose, but if we lose a close one, I can accept that we just aren't quite there yet. If we get mauled, then we have a longer rebuild than I think.

Didn't A&M need a miracle to put away an Arkansas team that lost at home to San Jose State? A team that lost by double digits to Air Force and Tulsa.
We were picked by Vegas to win, and I think a lot of it rides on:
The Swamp is going to be filled to the brim. It is going to loud, wild and absolutely rocking.
Auburn's weakness on defense is passing in general, but especially in the center of the field, which is where Trask seems to really succeed with Pitts.
Auburn's strength on offense is running. Mississippi State is missing several pivotal pieces on their defense and lost a ton of players last year (thanks to Mullen's development, they had three players drafted in the first round). So they lost a bunch of defenders, then had a bunch of players suspended and on top of that, in the game against Auburn, their "David Reese" gets ejected for targeting.
Keep in mind, too, that Auburn was running up the score. We've pulled our punches two weeks in a row for reps more than anything else. We figured out Towson's defense and could have easily just exploited it over and over again until we scored 70 points -- and especially against Tennessee. Trask sat out an entire quarter for that game.
We're going to be fine, and this crying will stop after next week.
LSU and Georgia are the real tests, with LSU being #1.
We're really going to see what Trask is made of when we go to Death Valley.

Our weakness( O-line) is going up against aubbie's biggest strengths ( there D-line ) where they will dominate us if trask doesn't have time in the pocket how in the world is he going to work the middle of the field he sure isn't going to scramble and make plays with his legs
If Towson had 3 sacks on us ( and again he fumbled on one of those) aubbie will have at least 6 to 8 sacks and many QB hurries

I am not a troll , Ban bet for the rest of the year says Trask will have as many or more Turnovers against Auburn then passing TDs.
I don’t think anyone was worried about Townson. I was worried about Trask against a poor Tennessee team. He had as many INTs as he did TDs against Tennessee. Trask seems to loose yards on the ground every game .

If Trask can run as good as Franks then he is going to have to show it against Auburn. So far he is no where near the runner that Franks was . I believe Franks was in the top 3 or 4 in rushing yards on the team while Trask is dead last . Trask does seem to be good running up the middle for short yardage.
Posted on 9/29/19 at 10:54 am to tjv305
I mean Trask can not run as good as Franks that is pretty obvious. As for turnovers. Yea...he probably has 2 or 3. Hopefully he makes up for it in scoring drives.
We are VERY good in the red zone on both offense and defense. Hopefully that continues. Also I dont know who our fastest DB is...but he has to be on their speedster every play.

This has the feel of the LSU game last year, nobody expected us to beat them like we did. Mullen said it himself at our booster meeting in July. It was the atmosphere that won that game. The players fed off that big time, and it juiced them to play out of their minds.

If you're stupid enough to think we're going to run the same offense against Towson against Auburn then I'm not sure what the point of this conversation is going to yield.
We are going to see a lot of quick throws -- but you guys have to realize (at some point) that Mullen is simply getting Trask reps at QB where he is reading the field. He will need it going forward.
The game was almost like a scrimmage, and it's kind of shocking to me that you guys don't realize that our team was playing like this was a scrimmage game.
tjs: Ban betting other Gators on the Gator board about a QB making mistakes seems pretty weird and self-loathing. I suggest, instead, you subtract your emotions from the situation.

Mullen pretty much said that politely as possible in his presser. I don't remember the exact wording, but it was something to the effect that they could have probably put up more points in the second half if that had been the main thing he wanted to accomplish with that time.
ETA: I think some of that is trying to figure out what to do about the OL and scheme around it. I also think the staff is committed to leaving some points on the field in these sure blowouts in order to cycle through as many players as possible. Mullen is really concerned about depth, and I think getting guys like Zipperer and others in the game for playing time is more important to him at the moment than scoring two more touchdowns.

if it hasn't changed yet, it's never going to happen. i predict the last 7 games will be rough. we don't have anymore cupcakes on the schedule.
