Never new anything about this game. Found it on another Gator forum. It's interesting because some of the camera views will show how the swamp looked way back when. Btw, I have no clue what year this was played in...

1986. Bell had bad knee and could barely walk, let alone run. This was in the aftermath of some of the most severe penalties handed out by the NCAA.

A few years later the SEC and Big 8 (as it was called then) told the NCAA that it was costing millions to have teams not on TV...especially Florida with a large population and a lot of TVs. We weren't allowed on TV in 1985-86. Severe scholly reductions took their toll and made Bowden such a power (yuck).

Oh...the girls school game kept us from a losing record in 1986 (6-5), I didn't even watch that highlight reel because I know how it went down...it was played in a monsoon and Bell threw TD pass to win it...either to Ricky Nattiel or Ray MacDonald jr.
