The Florida Gators were waiting word on one final transfer prospect on their current 2020 roster in Texas Longhorns wide receiver transfer Jordan Pouncey. On Monday evening, Florida offensive lineman Riley Simonds shared a snap from Jordan Pouncey’s own Snapchat where Pouncey said he has been granted an immediate eligibility waiver by the NCAA, giving him the ability to suit up for the Gators for the 2020 season.

Pouncey elected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal last October and leave Austin. A few months later, in December, Pouncey and his younger brother, cornerback Ethan Pouncey, both committed to the Florida Gators.

With Pouncey now eligible for the Gators this season, it gives UF another weapon for their already stacked wide receiver group after losing four big time contributing seniors after last season. The haul now means the Gators have a solid group of receivers on scholarship that includes Trevon Grimes(SR), Kadarius Toney (SR), Rick Wells (R-SR), Jacob Copeland (R-SO), Justin Shorter (R-SO), Ja'Markis Weston (R-FR), and Trent Whittemore (R-FR). Florida also added freshmen wide receivers Xzavier Hendersonand Jaquavion Fraziars as well last cycle. The Gators have also ridden stud tight end Kyle Pitts thus far in the 2020 season as well through the air. Pitts has already accounted for an impressive six scores through two games.
