Finch: What do you think of Randy saying ''we're gonna make some changes to the structure on and off the field''? Damn, I'm starting to wonder if the team -- including the coaches are happy he's gone.

just from hearing all of the rumors and the way the past week has went, i feel as if a huge weight has been lifted. i wouldn't be surprised if we win out now. still not sure if it'll happen, the next 4 games should be what shannon and stricklin have said. FUN!

there's really nothing else to play for at this point.

I noticed that, too. ''Fun'' was said by Stricklin and Shannon. I like the direction we're going in.

There isn't any fun in losing....but football should be fun regardless. Like Shannon's style and demeanor....lets see what happens at Mizzou....I do know we better keep the ball away from Lock and we better put pressure on him..rotate that DL.

THAT WAS SO frickING REFRESHING!

OMG

I don't think he's the guy for Florida, but goddamn, the difference between him and Mac was night and fricking day.

Even Stricklin, too. I really, really like our chances to get a good HC. They're hitting the words I want to hear -- fun for Shannon, doing what works, those who play are those who earned it.

On Stricklin's side: Integrity, fun, long-term.

I mean, it just looked like he was happy to be there.

That was the difference.

That, too.

frick, man. I can't believe McElwain had such a weak constitution sometimes.

I also heard he turned Spurrier down twice when Spurrier offered to help.

Prick.

it's usually easy for an interim coach to come in, play good cop for a month or two to win over the team and have them playing at a descent level.

should never confuse this with long term stability and staying power. it's all sales talk. don't fall for it, whether it's true or not. doesn't matter in the interim. perceived positive change always creates a "new, fresh" environment in any business, culture or team.

that said, i've always respected randy. i genuinely like the guy and am glad we have him. hope the next coach keeps him.

slayer 100% doesn't want Shannon, but it's nice to have someone lucid and upbeat who looks like he gives a frick about the team and what happens next week.

Hyper focused on the next team, ready to go out and be with the players.

Not those weird platitudes that McElwain was giving every week.

I wouldn't mind at all if Shannon was named HC...sure, he is interim but his demeanor in that presser was refreshing as hell. I think Mac just had enough of the pressure cooker at UF and it wore on him.

Shannon looks bullet proof to me. FUN....when have we heard that in 2.5 yrs? I don't care that he is a defensive guy, he just needs the right OC. The part he mentioned about visiting with offensive coaches really stood out...he has been there, done that with HC experience under his belt and deep south Florida roots. Not a bad thing....and I bet high school coaches down there would help send their young men to UF.

I just think we can't do it, man. Unless we beat South Carolina by 50 and haev a spread offense that runs with no hitches whatsoever.
