Im Tired of the Media Dissing Us

I have already posted before that ESPN doesn't want us on top in the SEC because they now have the ACC network to promote. Its failing of course because few eyeballs watch Pitt or BC or Cuse...let alone Wake, NC State or Duke (until roundball). ESPN needs Miamuh and the girls school in the top 15.
If you watch closely the commercial that is aired 40 times a day pimping the CFP and the teams are in the tunnel and you see Clemson, Bama, Oregon, Irish etc etc look at the end and you will see seminole indian coming out of the tunnel. Pray tell me what made ESPN think they would compete for the CFP? It must have been their sterling record from last year? No Gator shown of course.
AU has gotten some love...but nowhere near what Clemson, Bama and UGA has gotten. Clemson is crucial to the ACC network. You say" but ESPN also televises SEC "...true, but there are a lot of other teams they can talk about besides UF...who shares the state with two teams in the ACC.
We need to force the media to talk about us and it begins with AU. Beat them and nobody will be saying we aren't a top 10 team. It will be a battle royale in the Swamp against them.....but I like our chance to win a very close game.
..and here are my reasons:
1) As in the "Wizard of Oz", there's no place like home
2) Coach Mullen and Grantham will call a good game
3) Defense will win the game in the end after AU has their way early
4) Playmakers on offense will wear down the tiger defense in the fourth qt. Pitts is a 6'6" TE/WR who will be hard to defend...he will fight for the ball and can drag defenders a few yards...yac. Run game is the biggest question mark and we can't abandon it or Trask will be pressured all day.
5) Focus by the OL and I think the motion flags will be a lot fewer. Avoid the 15 yd ones.
6) The biggest advantage is turnovers and we have to win that...ball security...if we didn't have a single turnover, we win going away, but is hard to do.
7) Conditioning is on our side and with AU on the east sidelines..a hot day is needed and the forecast is good.
Those big DL & OL will feel the heat and by 4th qt we should see the results somewhat.
It will be a nail biter and a close game maybe decided by a FG...we have the better kicker/punter.

Honestly it isn't all that unfair if you go by this season so far. Close win to Miami where we looked poor at times, close win at Kentucky where we had to come back. People need to see UF be great to call us that. While it's annoying, because the metrics actually show this is a very good football team...it's about the eyeball test.
We haven't passed it yet. Even if we beat Auburn it will look dirty and ugly most likely, because it's going to be that type of game. So if we pull it out in the end which we have done over and over(proving it's not just luck), it will still be considered luck. Media is generally pretty lazy with advanced analysis.

Fair enough bait...but we have been dissed before season started and the media kept the mantra that they didn't think we were a top ten team or questioned it. Look at the top ten preseason ranking of meatchicken in the top ten. That blew up in their face...what the hell did they do last year to deserve that status?
I just went and looked at SEC stats and its amazing that AU is dead last in the SEC in passing yardage, but first in rushing. Their OL will lean on us...trust me. We are 12th in rushing and pathetic.

ESPN actually had an article today about the top 12 teams that had a chance to make the CFB playoff and UF was 12th.

Straws in my older years I like to worry
keeps me on edge. But I do expect AU to be ahead or tied with us at end of 3rd qt. Look at last years LsU game and they went ahead late and then the defense clamped down.
I knew we could beat UT but I expected them to give us a fight early on...they are lost souls right now and the rats are jumping off the Titanic. Look at the rant and the fans and alters have stopped posting. They have games next week against UGA, Moo State, @ Bama, USCe before UAB. They only have two good chances at Ws, UAB and Vandy and no guarantee they win both. A 2-10 season is possible.

ESPN's power rankings has us as a favorite over Auburn, for what it's worth.

Have to have the defense win the game. Stop the run and force them to throw and baby nix may get color blind. He isn't that accurate from what I have seen when he is rushed and once he tastes the green grass in the Swamp a few times he will hurry his passes.
This is a game where the DL has to bow up...Campbell, Carter, Dunlap, Slaton & Shuler have to be grown men. I don't know what happened to Conliffe? But we don't have a huge rotation for two DT spots. Of course the outside is our strength and inside with Reese plugging the middle.

We have proven over and over we are a 4 quarter team. If we go into the 4th tied...I trust us to win the game. We've proven over and over we can find a way.

Bait, if we are tied with AU in the 4th qt that's $$ in the bank..bet the damn mortgage!
