I don’t really care either way I just wonder why other people care so much about it. I think old gator fans are more upset than anyone ever was about the supposed connotations.

When you get older most seem to value traditions more than younger people do, especially this generation. Like you have heard, we cling to our guns and bibles among other things. I want to take my grandsons to Gator games and sing the same songs and yell the same cheers that I did when my grandfather took me to Florida field for the first time in 1966. Go Gators!

I’ve been going since 1990. I mean I love going. It one chant more or less doesn’t change that for me.

I’ve been going my whole life too. I don’t love the Gators any less with or without the chant.

Do I think it’s kinda silly and “fixing” a problem that didn’t exist? Absolutely.

That is the problem with a lot of the PC BS. They create a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. 99 -100% of Gator fans never thought anything racist about the gatorbait cheer, just like 99-100% never considered the state song racist until someone told us that we should consider it that way. That is what is wrong with the world today, the feelings of the singular outweigh the rights of the rest.

Completely agree. With all the other bs going on right now, this is just low on my list of things to be pissed at when it comes to political correctness and cancel culture and “woke”ness.
