What should be our expectations for the 2025 and 2026 seasons with DJ Lagway at QB?

I think Napier has to make the playoffs in 2025 and seriously compete and hopefully win a title in 2026, or else this extended stay "patience" coaching experiment was a failure.

Need the 2026 schedule to be way in our favor. We need to have the entire bottom half of the SEC like Texas had this year. Swap LSU for Vandy. Swap Texas for Missouri. Et cetera.

i'd say the bottom is 9-3 with us bouncing around the top 25 in 2025 similar to Ole Miss did this year.

2026 should have us in the top 12 by the end of the year. whether that's 9, 10, 11, or 12 wins.

there's no reason for a school like Florida, FSU, or even Miami not to be in the discussion every year. i'm not asking for a #1 seed year in and year out, but being in the discussion makes all the difference in perception and in recruiting.

not being a disney gator here
my wife loves to go there but i have been there twice and thats good enough for me

but honestly if we continue the momentum, especially on defense, into next season, i can honestly say i see 1-3 losses with a playoff birth.

the WR room will be healthy with depth
our DBs should have good depth

the only thing i worry about is the OL and shoring that up with the transfer portal could fix that.

dj has gotten some good game reps with just pure passing for the most part and hopefully will help his development. hes a grown man and makes big boy plays.

the thing that will forever ruin billy for me and would be unforgiveable would be to put mertz back in the starting roll if he comes back for his 17th season.. i will not watch a down of football

billy is slowly crawling back up the hole he has dug and i have my "billy apology" form filled out, i just havent signed my name yet

I’ll wait for the portal and the schedule. A little premature to place expectations prior to knowing what we have.

With that said I’d expect UF to play better on Offense and hopefully better on Defense to make me feel better.

Realizing that we are losing experienced production and expecting the returnees to step their game up is just normal and hopeful on my end.

CFP? Idk if that’s an overstretch by a little. I would hope that they’d at least be knock on the door.

You do realize that Lagway played ok. By know means great. Too many sacks and slow reads. He needs work on his short to mid field passes and reads. Perhaps that will come with reps, knowledge, and experience.

I would hope to see 9-3 to 11-1 but as mentioned above I need some answers before I give what. Really expect.
