How do u expect him to perform throwing wise. Esp with the threat of read option with him. That changes things a lot

Also got good RBs. Young but talented WRs with a hell of a WR coach.

I'm curious your thoughts on next year flat out. Thx guys

I got 9-3 or 10-2 in mind and far better run game minimally worse pass game. Your thoughts?

If Trask stays, Emory could still have 2 years left if he wanted to continue to wait. AR would get another year as well. I don’t think Trask could accomplish more than he did this year though. He could be the difference in the Bama game though next season.

I think he's proved enough to go way higher then he ever imagined 18 months ago

Late 2nd at worst imo still think 9ers or Saints snatch em up by then

If Emory is the man next year, I expect Mullen to adjust the offense to play to his strengths.

Hopefully the OL is improved and we can get our backs more involved to help our young WR corps

Trask needs to go. Him staying will literally screw our QB rotation for the next 2+ years. I'm so thankful for him and everything he has done for our team and his loyalty, but its time to go get paid.

The difference in $$$ from being a late 2nd rounder to a first rounder is about a 1/3 less. If he isnt a first rounder he should weigh his options. Anyone know if he has an underclassmen g/f?

Although I appreciate Jone's running ability....its obvious now that the SEC requires great passing skills. You go up against high powered offenses...you better be able to score over 40 points....no matter who the DC is. The present day SEC is like a video game.

I have inferred my opinion on Emory's passing skills...he has to learn touch and not throw straight clothes line bullets. Of course the sample size of his passing is small and he could be more polished by next fall.

Trask know how to put arch on the ball and get it over the LBs heads when needed. If he comes back we could be a 11-1 team possibly and if not...3 losses or even 4. Once Jones throws six picks and fumbles a few times the natives will be restless. I hope Im wrong...but remember UK has a QB, Wilson, who is a real runner but doesnt have high powered passing skills. They had to turn to other QBs to try and score points.

Look at what the offenses will be like next year: Ole Miss, Cowbell U., LSU, Bama, Carolina, UGA, UT, A&M, to name some of the schools who will throw the ball around.

I think the future is AR or Del Rio....and I liked what I saw of his high school tape and his attitude, think he could a real leader in the locker room. Guys who commit and stay the course and dont flirt with other schools is my kinda player....ditto Chief Borders.

All our WRs just opted out, So maybe Trask should go as well.
A young WR corps won’t help his numbers any.

Grimes and Toney opted out?

Wouldn’t that leave us with:

Shorter
Henderson
Copeland
Gamble
Zipperer

Supposedly Copeland out with Covid? This is horse manure, quitting on your team mates, coaches and fans. No one gives a fruk. Hate it. Selfish me attitude all over this country.

I'm no QB whisperer but I don't think Trask will get the news he'd like about the draft. I also understand that he needs to work on his footwork. If he stays and works on the fundamentals that he's lacking then next year may be even be more prosperous for him.

To me it would be a bonus to have him work with the receivers and line. Other QB's may be unhappy but I've said that in another post.

I think he has pretty good footwork

Nobody ever really answered the main question. I guess that's partly my bad. The big question what kind stats do u project from Emory?

I agree

Let's go all young boys at QB and WR. Just seems like the smart thing to do to give a shot at big game opponent that's kinda meaningless. I dont buy into bowls being totally meaningless.

Them young guys could def carry positive momentum over into next yr with a W.

I mean, really, regarding Trask it's just simple math.

This year is particularly heavy QB wise.

Mac Jones, Justin Fields, Jamie Newman, Trevor Lawrence, Lance, I think Trask would be lucky to be #5 at this moment (and isn't projected as such).

Just by staying another year he automatically bumps himself up to either #1 or #2 next year, guaranteed.

Regarding Jones:

I haven't liked what I've seen from him so far, but then again Mullen has not let him run the offense yet. It's impossible to really gauge him at this point.

If Trask stays then not much. If Trask leaves he will have to beat out Richardson. To me its hard to guess how he will be used and his production. The offense will be young and the method of attack will be built around the starter which will be different from this year.

Id like to think Trask loves it at Florida...his mother relocated here I believe and as long as she is ok with waiting another year...I think he stays. If she is in financial stress...then he should leave to help her of course.

Trask is a good kid but he should not have been allowed to do so many interviews about the Heisman...the coaches let him down imo...they should have shielded him from so many reporters.

Imo
If Trask is going pro, he needs to opt out.
If Trask is coming back, he plays.
