Good:
1. OL looks a lot better. They looked bad even against bad competition last year. This year they kept a pretty clean pocket and did OK in run blocking.

2. Kyle trask looks completely confident and in control. As much as I like Jones I don't think we should bring him in much, as every possession on offense is going to be so important for this team given the defense.

3. Special teams looks very solid. Coverage looked sound and kicking game was business like and accurate.

4. UF has a ton of gifted skill players. When was the last time we could really say that? EVen if you take Pitts away (which IDK if anyone can) you have Toney who has made huge improvements, Grimes is a man on the outside and in the red zone, and Copeland looks solid. The emergence of Whittemore and seeing a Henderson sighting just goes to show how deep this group still is. Also Davis and Wright look like they can be dangerous out of the backfield catching passess.

5. Ventrell Miller looks like a run stopping beast in the middle, and UF really needed that with Reese gone. Although the front 7 in general wasn't great, I thought they were disruptive enough to save Florida's life early in that game. The Cox deflection and their ability to stop short yardage stopped this from being an anxiety-induced 51-50 type game.

Bad:
1. The safety play at UF is just ridiculously bad. I know Davis and Stewart weren't playing, and I hate to pick on people specifically, but Stiner is one of the worst safeties I have seen at UF since Kyle Jackson. He really shouldn't see the field a lot. His tackling was even bad, and he took bad angles, so I don't see one justifiable reason for him to be on the field. Trey Dean, in limited snaps, actually looked a lot better, especially tackling. But he didn't play much. Stiner was literally responsible for giving up 2 TD through the air and responsible for a third TD after missing a tackle and then gave up a 30 yard pass in single coverage to set up a fourth TD. Just HORRIBLE play. While Torrance didn't play well at least his excuse is he's young. I'd bench Stiner.

2. The tackling in the secondary remains a huge problem. I don't know why, but outside of Dean who is a missle the tackling in the secondary is suspect and it cost Florida.

3. Contain was a huge problem for the defensive front. They never adjusted to the feet of Corral and I'm not really sure why.

4. Conditioning. LINK - this one play is just an example. Cox was so tired at the end of the game he didn't even attempt to run to the play. I mean, I know the game was over, but this is just one example. The defense was so tired in the 4th quarter. That is a problem, but maybe it will be helped when some of the missing players come back next week.

5. Coaching prep - UF had a hard time getting lined up on defense specifically.

Just my 2 cents. If they can clean up the defense this is a championship caliber team.

The Good:

Everything on offense looks improved. Rushing, rush blocking, receiving corps (yes, even them) and obviously QB.

Special Teams needs some work, but otherwise it looks fantastic.

The Bad: Ventrill Miller in coverage. Let's just keep him going north and south, we have too many good LBs on the roster to let him cover people, because he got abused from time to time over the middle.

Definitely gotta stay off Twitter. Davis immediately went on Twitter to complain about the targeting call from the locker room. I guess it's not so bad, but we've definitely had some problems there.

The Uuhuhuhuhugly.

Safeties were definitely bad, McWilliams still isn't ready. Stiner was abused, and often times was just completely flatfooted. The freshman looked fine, he'll get work and get better. The CBs actually played very well and I think only permitted 4 passes.

The LBs and Safeties were basically buns. I think we need to start playing softer coverage with one safety and move the other up into protecting short routes. The outside we're completely fine, they got some passes, but the inside is absolutely horrendous for run and pass support.

Stiner and McWilliams are the two biggest weaknesses on this team. The coaches have to see this. There is no way to miss it. They will make every game harder if they play.

I hate being mean about players..but they really are very bad in coverage. Stiner froze up like 3 times and allowed big plays each time. How does he freeze up after being in the defense for years?

He didn't have a big game or anything but good to see Malik Davis out there and looking healthy for the first time in a while.

What’s funny is pretty much everyone who watched thought trey dean was an immediate upgrade in the limited snaps he got at safety but he only really played when Torrance lost his helmet. Strange.

There is no reason whatsoever that Dean should be on the bench if he can play for McWilliams. I thought for sure it was gamesmanship but that kid, as much as I hate to bag on him, has absolutely no future in the game.

Nor does Stiner. They are way too old, have way too many years logged to ever make it to the NFL. Dean might, but those two guys have been consistent liabilities.

I have to agree as much as I have bagged on trey Dean the last 2 years he looked much improved and way better then McWilliams and Stiner.

Dean was laying some hits out there in helping in run support and in the backfield give this guy more PT he looks like he deserves it.
