Watching that press conference immensely increased my respect for not only Muschamp but Lattimore as well, and I didn't think that was possible.

Rooster, how many other universities are doing something like this? (outside of the normal capacity anyways)

I mean obviously this will have a tremendous impact on recruiting, but having someone like Marcus talk with families of recruits, share his experiences, and put their minds at ease that they are investing in these kids outside of just sports is HUGE!!!
If other universities are not doing something like this, they soon will be. Setting young people up to be successful in whatever they venture into in life, especially if the professional sports thing fails is a tremendously underrated and overlooked aspect of this whole sports thing.

I'm sure others are doing it ... just none that I know of. Certainly none as high profile. Yet I'm also sure others are about to do it on some level.

As inspirational as that press conference was, the later interview with Paul Finebaum completely knocked it outta the park. I though Finebaum was gonna choke-up ... and I suspect, based on callers and tweets afterwards, some did.

Marcus is going to be a monumental addition I think ... and he'll do a lot of good. I've gotten to know him a little fundraising for his foundation and he is a class person.

Didn't think this was thread worthy, but still wanted to ask you something rooster.

Was talking to my buddy. Both of us are late '20s and we were just talking about uni combos and stuff like that.

Did we even ever wear black pre-Joe Morrison days? Before that was it always garnet jersey for home, white jersey for the road, both with white helmets and pants?

Thanks.

I can never remember us wearing all black pre-Joe Mo but my memory fails me sometimes. I wish I had seen this post before hanging up the phone with the person I just hung up with ... because he will know absolutely for sure.

I do not remember us ever going with black jerseys and pants at the same time though. I do remember black pants and white jerseys and garnet pants and black jersey, etc. I mean I remember the old white helmets when I first enrolled, we called them the Dietzel Domes. I remember when the garnet helmets were first introduced and everyone loved them.

Probably everyone's favorite color combo over the years has been garnet pants, black tops and garnet lids.

I'll find out for sure though GW. Definitely before I leave for Michigan on the 28th because there is a big dinner planned on the 26th I think it is and it'll be a good question to throw at some of the guys.

I don’t even mean all black. I mean black at all. Any classic footage I see pre Morrison only has us with white helmets, garnet or white jerseys, and white pants. Was JoMo the one to introduce any black into the uniforms?

The first time I remember the big hoopla about our black in uniforms was in '84 ... I think it was the opener against The Citadel when we first came out to the tune of AC/DC Back-n-Black with black jerseys, white pants and garnet helmets. But it could have been Duke or Kansas State. I wasn't there that entire season, I was in Europe but my Dad used to take his VCR movie camera into the stadium and film portions of games until the tape was full and then send the tape to me via APO (took about two weeks to arrive) and my buddies and I would sit in the day room and watch them with my Dad yelling his take on each play in the background and the occasional side shot of my Mom or wife or some hot arse gal he would zoom-in on.

One of those tapes he sent had the new entrance with 2001 and AC/DC ... I remember him saying on the tape that Mick Mixon had been talking about the entrance all week.

And then I am pretty sure it was against The Citadel and we came out in black jerseys. 1st game of '84.

SCR,

It wasn't Duke I was at that game and we wore all garnet.

Yeah, I was thinking we wore all garnet for the Duke game too. I'm pretty sure we wore white pants and black jerseys for The Citadel. I could be wrong. I may go dig through storage in the spare house today and look for the '85 media guide (I used to save them all) and see if there is a picture of the '84 game results in there. I just remember a black jersey with those stripes on the sleeve, I wanna say three or four stripes .... hated those jerseys.
