Thought he might been referring to the butthurt taters are displaying over the Muschamp situation.

The staff member stealing cash makes more sense, tho. Brain fart.

Both. It's pretty rampant on Twitter tho. They won't let it go and have taken the "Muschamp is what's wrong with football" stance and are proclaiming it rather loudly.

I was just told that our Athletic Department is now being questioned on how they "handle things" bc of Muschamp's support of Durkin and how it has basically been misconstrued as support for the Maryland program in spite of what happened.

Take it for what it's worth. If I get more info, I'll share it. It was from someone who has always been extremely credible but it is the first I've heard of this going on here.

Reporters can and do ruin people's lives with impunity using nothing but anonymous sources. Look at what happened to Richard Jewell, Duke Lacrosse and the UVA fraternity featured in that bs Rolling Stone article. A healthy amount of skepticism and cynicism towards the media should be viewed as a good thing.

Well stated.

fricking Twitter got me y'all. Suspended the acct bc I told a tater that tweeted a gif of Lattimore's injury and was making fun of it that I supported abortion in his case.

Anyway, the new acct is @Carolina_Girl47. Same Avi. And they locked it for 12 fricking hours and it's a brand damn new acct. Assholes.

ETA: Also told the tater to stop crying like a baby back bitch bc of what I said and go suck on his Mama's tit and that if she wasn't available I was sure Dabo would let him use his Mama's tit if he could get him out of bed with her.

Yeah...I was pissed. Water is wet and the sky is blue. Y'all know I have a temper. Oh well. It was worth it.

I have no problem with his comments, it’s just how he said it.

Muschamp is one of those folks who, to borrow an old phrase, "his virtues are his vices".

What people like about him is that he is a fiery and passionate guy... and that is what gets him in trouble at times.

I think he got caught flat footed with the question. So he didn't have a prepared answer to fall back on like a "its a tragedy, and I feel for that young man's family. I know Coach Durkin and he's a good man..." spiel.

That shite is going to happen from time to time.

You tend to hire the opposite of your last coach after all. Spurrier, despite his love of zinging people, rarely shot from the hip so to speak. Muschamp will almost always give you his real opinion on something without any sugar coating.

Muschamp is not nicknamed Coach Boom because of his mild manners.

In the short term, yeah it doesn't look wonderful and the press is going to poke him with sticks. In the long run its going to be remembered as one more example of Muschamp being as loyal as a stone. There are worse things to be remembered for.

No comment....that is always the best answer when you don't know the facts. Durkin is a HC for the first time. He is not under Muschamp's wing so he has little or no knowledge of what Durkin would do calling his own shots. I have promoted great people into positions that turned out very bad. When there is no accountability to anyone but yourself...things change. You change...it's fact. Some get better...some get worse. You never know which way it will go. Muschamp did not do himself or the university any favors by doing or saying what he did.

They are still close friends and Durkin and Boom had talked by phone less than four hours before mUSChamp's press conference.

So yeah, Boom had heard Durkin's, his friend's, side of the story in detail just hours before ... and he defended him.

There is something to be said for loyalty in these days and times.

I have been totally shocked by things that people I was very close to have done. People (including you and me) let you know things about themselves that they want you to know. The real bad parts of you, you keep under wraps. If you have never been shocked by something a close friend has said or done, then you are one of the very few !!!! You can be a loyal friend and still see or know or even suspect that something is very wrong. That is a part of being a good friend....

Very true. Most of us know people in a controlled environment, such as work. I have vouched for people in the past and have been totally surprised at allegations that ended up being true. There are only a few people that we remotely know. Those are the ones that we live with and see all sides, good and bad. Even then, we can be fooled. Under the right circumstances, we are all capable of doing things that others would see as being "out of character".
