Steele made it official SoCal tonight, so as expected he is off the board. Our staff did a hell of a job to stay in it as long as they did. He was never leaving Southern California.

He's overrated imo, plus a few other coaches in the area.

I agree he is overrated due to his speed, but ball skills are there. I also believe if he is also being recruited here as a rb, he will grow into a damn good pass rushing safety/lb hybrid much like the old SPUR position here.

I actually think that's where he's weakest at. He's a pretty good athlete though which is why he's ranked so high.

I watched his film he is pretty slow, bit plays fast, his intangibles are there he is a bit stiff which is why ibthink he'd be better off as a lb safety hybrid

JC just put in a cb for Walker to USC, I was told earlier in the week it was looking very good for us with the wonnums and boom putting in work. It will be interesting, still think he is uga bound but this is very close and will stay that way. CG and KS can vouch for me here as I paased it along to them on twitter a few days before it broke in the major sites.

Well ... something is going-on because I just saw a prediction that we'll have four to five 5*s on the roster by this time next year and Walker would have to be one of them.

Unless this is all Shurbert promoted, it came from a good source.

So all I can think of is Belk, Pickens, Hilinski, Walker and Crouch maybe? I dunno.

Yep ... it's gotta be Crouch. Wonder if someone actually knows something about Walker and Crouch or if it's WAGs.

Word is Walker is about to get a whole lot warmer. (Just hung up with an old recruiting buddy of mine still in the network now living in west Texas.)

Crouch is supposed to be taking notice of the other 5*s getting with the program and is not as enamored with Tennessee as he was a month ago.

We're supposed to get another visit ... and that might change things.

This staff would have to be considered miracle workers if they somehow pull this off. I'm taking a wait and see attitude on both of those guys ... seeing is believing.

But man it sounded real, especially with Walker.

Not sure that Hilinski will get that 5th star. He probably deserves it but the star rating has become political.

I feel like the later 5 stars go to players who are uncommitted so that it will drum up sales.

This certainly appears to be the case a lot of the time. I don't know how intentional it is, but there does seem to be a lot of reluctance to bump players who commit early unless it is to Bama or Ohio State.

I know for a fact that's what they do.

Ohio State, Bama, Notre Dame, Texas ... they cater to the sites with the largest premium subscriber bases.

Bobby Burton admitted that to me one time when he was drunk.

247 hosed Hilinski only bumping him to 106 and number 3 pro style behind rattler and howell. However it raised his composite to 47 and the number 3 qb regardless of pro or dt, behind rattler and nix
