I was also permabanned from CockyTalk. I kept gloating about how I was right that Jarvis Giles would transfer if Lattimore committed to us, which everyone there gave me shite about. I wasn't even that big of an a-hole but apparently the mods couldn't take a little ribbing.
It was nice when this board opened. I had been floating in the ether with no place to land before settling on the Tigerdroppings OT. Happy to see this board has a healthy amount of good Gamecock fans.

Don't feel too bad. CNB and others have explained how this works before and it makes a lot of sense. We whine about LSU fans here because they leak from TD and often seem legitimately retarded. They are that way because TD is their homer board and it attracts a wide range of people, many of whom are going to be dumb AF but they're not necessarily representative of all LSU fans IRL.
It's the exact same phenomena with Cockytalk, Hogville, Tidefans and whatever other school specific forums exist that I can't think of ATM. They're just Homer boards and Homer boards are always going to be really weird, twisted, echo chambers.
There are a couple of notable exceptions to that rule that I've encountered...ShaggyTexas and goEmaw being good examples, but it's a reliable rule of thumb, homerboards are going to be nauseating.
It's why we all like this place, it's like reddit but not gay.

Agreed. I don't actually want them banned for a number of reasons:
1. It shows other schools the kind of people we have to deal with making them like us, or at least respect us, more.
2. They've done a decent job at annoying people here and making them dislike Clemson as a result.
3. The back and forth can be entertaining.
4. The ones who have leaked here are really really bad at arguing on their behalf. They're just not good at researching or providing sound arguments. Their one reasonable poster is CivilTiger, that's it.
They have legitimate reasons to visit the site because of geographic proximity and how frequently they play conference schools. Nobody should be banned just for team affiliation.
That said, a huge part of my banter is going to be "ban these fools" and "you're SEC-sessed" because it's funny and gets them backpedaling at times to justify their presence.

I won't deny the small horde of annoying Clemson fans trashing up threads is getting my goat. That having been said... I felt the same way when Oklahoma and Texas fans were doing it not that long ago.
And you are right. There are some stupid LSU fans... which is why Arkansas fans so often troll in those particular waters. That having been said there are some wonderful LSU posters on here.
I still don't like the taterheads though. They are obnoxious pricks.

Cockytalk has so much potential that they could unlock were their staff just not overprotective bitches.
The vBulletin platform is a great one and it allows engagement at a much higher level than whatever this site runs on. I've whined about this before but:
- Private messages
- Video and tweet imbedding
- Full bb code to support bullets, tables, strikethrough etc.
- Expanded User pages for greater personalization
- IRC
- The ability to see who the staff actually is
- A usable search function
All of that is available through vbulletin but not here, this place is in the relative dark ages and just a little better than tigernet format wise. Some of that may be because of financial/time constraints, a fear that users would leave from the change, by design (they don't want us to have the features because we'd abuse them) or it may be negligence/laziness. I won't speculate but it would be cool to see some gradual improvements.
If CT changed their moderating approach, axed a couple of people, and opened the floodgates more to opposing fans and previously banned users I would jump ship from here to there in a heartbeat...but they're never going to do that. This place gets the edge just from reasonable administration alone.

Yea I'm just thinking that I didn't grow up in SC and I don't live there now either so I think that may account for the differing approaches to the Taters. If I had a longer history of dealing with them, had to deal with more of them, and they were right next to me I'd probably have a different opinion on it so I won't be critical of the folks that live in SC now or grew up with the rivalry.
