That's probably true. We shouldn't act like this is some unique issue at USC and I'm not going to say that the students' concern is completely unwarranted, despite my spicier takes on some issues I get what they're saying in a way. I just wish this wasn't happening at our university at this moment, we needed this hiring to go well right now.

I've never been more ashamed of my alma mater.
Pick the best candidate, and make the hire. To halt the process just because some sophomore from Ohio stamped her feet and held her breath is garbage.
Jobs are based on merit, not on quotas, or because of some immutable characteristic. The BoT has hit a new low, and I'll never give another dime to these charlatans.

And the cap applies only to the incoming freshman class, meaning transfer and exchange students are not included in the allotted 18 percent.
