A thinking point as we approach the season, just to talk football. Is there a specific type of offensive philosophy you love to watch, or that you wish Carolina would run?

I personally feel our offense is finally heading in the right direction. Spread the defense and take advantage of mismatches .

McClendon is saying he wants to be a pass heavy team this year, which with our personnel Ive said for awhile is the best bet. If jake can cut down on the mental mistakes, I could see a successful season having him in the 3800-4000 yard and 35-40 TD and, if successful, around 10INT.

I think its a great move with the personal we have. The OL doesn't have to be all world and a quick passing games cuts down on the thought process which should help Jake.We also don't have a running back that we can ride all game.

I've always said balance is the key .... pass pass pass and when they try to shite it down run run run then rinse and repeat.

Ball control, error free, protect the football, either score or burn clock and win the battle of field position.

That's my favorite kind of offense.

Error free.

Yeah, a balanced offense has often been our best all-time offenses. Keeps opposing defenses from locking down our offense, especially when we play the really good defenses which we'll inevitably play in the SEC, our offense will better withstand that and not just disappear, when we're able to have balance...

WHen the run game struggles, then the passing game gets short - we have to use our passing game more to convert downs and move the chains, instead of opening up the field and keeping defenses backed off of us. Then the total offense drags down, and the scoring is lowered, which in turn places more pressure on our defense....

Turnovers are a killer too. I think mUSChamp said something about 19 offensive turnovers last year, seven in the red zone, seven fumbles and twelve interceptions..... is that correct or am I misquoting him?

That many turnovers is a killer both strategically and mentally.

Another thing that has to change this year is being able to pick up a 1st down on third and short, especially three yards or less.

ETA: That’s only going to change with a punishing short yardage running game, but one that has the ability to go directly off tackle and not always depend on the inside game. It also means having the QB under center at times to, if nothing else, keep the defense guessing.

SCrooster is right. balance is key. Unforntunately we cant do that with no run game.

Im not gonna get into my anger on ropers offense, as anyone with half a brain could guess what he was about to call. Jesus, run the first two downs, then throw on third down for first down? doesn't work? Lets try it again!

Last year I liked BMacs styles it was more varied, we just didn't have the run game to help alleviate some pressure from the passing game. I do think we can tear some defenses up with the passing game, we just cant have 4 DBs and 3 LBs all in coverage due to them justifiably not being concerned with the run.

Im honestly not worried about offense this year though. I think we get from 25-35 points most games, but my favorite style of play is Defense. Gimme the turnovers, gimme the 3 and outs, and an average offense can win the game.

TLDR-
We will around the same in offense, hopefully less turnovers and better running.
DEFENSE puts way more pressure on them and gives us some breathing room on offense.

In the past teams used the run to set up the pass but our offense is doing the opposite. Having a back, like Feaster, is huge in the spread, one hole and gone.

Has Feasted announced that he is definitely coming? I’ve been out of pocket a little this week still recovering from a couple of lightening strikes to the farm house we took a couple of weeks ago .... seven minutes apart. Dealing with State Farm, sheeesh.

But I haven’t heard about Feaster lately and I missed my Wednesday morning breakfast meeting with the guys this week, although one of them called me railing about how much they dropped some off our players rankings over at Rivals.

Yeah, Feaster is important. Absolutely. I’d like to see AJ get more carries too. They either need to make AJ a corner or a RB, one or the other. Or a kickoff return specialist. The kid has heart and talent.

Jessica Jackson might have let it slip but everything is pointing to Feaster coming here.

Feaster tweeted his "thanks for everything" to Clemson today.

And the tweet from Jessica yesterday...

Definitely makes you wonder....

What tweet from JJ? I closed my tweeter down a few weeks ago. How about at least a paraphrase for a bru?

First tweet yesterday:

Jessica Jackson
@JessRecruitsSC
Big news coming soon ??

Second tweet after our fanbase converged on her notifications wanting to know what she was referring to:

Jessica Jackson
@JessRecruitsSC
Disclaimer: I can not comment on the recruiting process and prospects per
@NCAA
. You all love to ask me that lol!

I’ll spill the beans later this week

ETA: Also, I discovered last night that VT has an incoming frosh RB by the name of....wait for it....Tahj Boyd. So if VT lands Feaster, they could have a tandem RB duo of Tahj Boyd and Tavien Feaster.

Well, I hope those tweets mean what y'all think those tweets mean.

He's supposed to let the coaches know one way or the other for sure today and it looks like we're going to have to go through the whole overhyped announcement thing again some time in the next 72 hours.

Sheesh they love the drama and attention these days. I just hope he lives up to the hype.

So kinda off on another tangent but Kinlaw told our fans to "quit living in the past" on twitter. Someone responded "well change it" and he replied "it already has. Steve Spurrier ain't my coach."

Sounds like this team is pissed off and motivated to shut ppl the frick up.

Nor would I.

Just kinda surprised me bc it was in response to one of the countdown videos to kickoff and it featured the 2012 Georgia game. I guess they're tired of hearing us yap about what used to be and what once was.

He certainly did not come across as a fan of Spurrier, either.
