I'm not sure how 247 comes-up with their composite score based upon those numbers? Something is not jiving, not kosher, about them claiming theirs are composite numbers ... see what I mean?

Either that or there is some missing data somewhere, other services that figure into 247's numbers perhaps?

If the same guy that shows up from the Shrine Bowl and from his highlight reel shows up, the coaches job is actually not going to be too hard. It's really on Wideman how far/high he wants to go.

FSU really dicked McClain over... here's audio of his coach blasting FSU, and being happy he ended up at USC.

Purring this class in perspective and in place with our current classes

2014
Commits; 21, National Rank: 15 SEC Rank: 8 Avg Rating: 0.8885, 10 Composite 4 Stars, 10 247 4 Stars

2013
Commits: 22, National Rank: 20, SEC Rank: 8, Avg Rating: 0.8702, 4 Composite 4 Stars, 8 247 4 Stars.

2012
Commits: 27, National Rank: 17, SEC Rank: 7, Avg Rating: 0.8693, 9 Composite 4 Stars, 10 247 4 Stars.

2011
Commits: 33 (good lord, lol), National Rank: 16 SEC Rank: 7 Avg Rating: 0.8659 1 5 Star (Clowney), 6 Composite 4 Stars, 7 246 4 Stars. Only 18 of the 33 are still on the team right now.

For next year, it will be the first time in a while we had 0 5 star guys on the team, but we'll have just over 30 guys who were 4 star level guys. Of all the 4+ Star players from '10-'13's class, only 12 were starters. (Also I just noticed that at some point 247 bumped Shaw up to a 4 Star I don't believe I remember him being a 4 Star on any site. Do they go back and change rankings?

I just read that 25 years ago today, HC Joe Morrison died, does that sound about right?

Yea they do. Aggie fans were saying someone took a screen shot of Jake Matthews page and pointed out the discrepancies after he got drafted.

Might not have been 247, but I read Shaw's recently and it was definitely not the same as when he came out of HS

Sounds about right. I know it was somewhere right about this time ... for some reason I thought last year was the 25th anniversary of his death. Wait, lemme think. He died in what, 88, '89? Yeah, I guess this is right about the time. I remember he was playing raquet ball, showed all the symptoms but wanted to take a shower first before going to the hospital ... and died in the shower.

I made a mistake with the site rankings on the previous page. I used 247's Composite ranking as the 247Site ranking, so I made the adjustment below. clem5on actually had the 24th ranked class based off of 247Site's rankings, not the 18th. The 18 number was their composite ranking. So that is why we are ranked ahead of them on the composite.

Taters
ESPN - #12
Rivals - #13
247 - #24
Scout - #28

Avg - 19.25

Gamecocks
ESPN - 19
Rivals - 16
247 - 15
Scout - 24

Avg - 18.5

So USC DOES have a higher ranked class this year than clem5on.

I don't post over there to convince them of anything, I simply wish to engage with them in discourse.

The smart ones know. They may not admit it but they know. They can look at the trench guys we signed and they get it - they just don't want to admit it.

In their behind the scenes post, 247 said that bama was actually the closest to flip BAW. They did a good job of showing all the facilities they had to offer and of course the pointed out that they had put many more LB's in the NFL than USC has recently.

BAW was actually really turned off during the uga visit. He called Coach Ward on the way to Richt's for the Super Bowl and said that he was firm with USC. He said that all the negative recruiting they did against USC really turned him off. Then he said that they came with a hard sell/now or never at the end and he turned it down.
