Said that Jamel Cook and Keir Thomas had a teammate from miami central pass away from injuries suffered in automobile accident. His funeral was yesterday. Muschamp gave both the day off to attend the funeral. Said the school flew both of them down there so they could go. According to Muschamp, the young man was "like family" to these guys and "Family comes first around here".

Say what you will about coach, but I approve of him doing this.

He also said that President Caslen got a game ball and has been a big supporter of the football team thus far.

Did he say he was retiring after this season by any chance?

Both Thomas and Cook wouldn't have been a factor in the game had they stayed - Thomas has been healing from a foot injury and some corrective surgery I think since the season began, and Muschamp has stated since the beginning he wasn't returning until after the bye week at the earliest, and Cook is just a bust thus far in his 2nd year in the program - so it made sense to do it.

The staff may be able to play the act into a recruiting positive, for future prospects.......
