Fought like hell yesterday. Started off the season 2-4, couldn't score any points whatsoever. Yeah the defense collapsed near the end of the season and the bowl game, but remember that they spent the first 7-8 games on the field the whole freakin game cause the offense couldn't stay there. They wore down. Clemson game aside, this team never gave up, always kept clawing and fighting. That game yesterday, although we lost it, showed me a ton about these guys. We're going to surprise quite a few people next year. You fight being down 18 to a team that's much more experienced and is built to exploit basically every weakness that we have and get it to overtime in some of the best football I've seen from these guys in years. I'm not even all that mad about the turnovers. The coaching staff finally decided to take chances and not be so conservative. Jakes fumble at the end is all oline. The ones that killed us are the usually reliable runningbacks putting it on the ground.

All in all, proud of the guts and fight in these guys; and ready for 2017. Go cocks!

I agree with you.

While the score reflects a loss, so much more valuable info and insight into the talent, determination, resiliency and overall potential this team possesses was demonstrated.

I saw somewhere that we had 481 total offensive yards in the bowl game.........and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE YARDS WAS GAINED BY EITHER A FRESHMAN OR SOPHOMORE. Now that is definitely reason to be excited about a future that looks very, very bright!

Something else that occurred to me after the bowl game. Initially I started pondering the odds that our failure to win the bowl game might result in the loss of recruits who were undecided or still riding the fence. But ironically, I think that the way we failed to win might actually prove to be beneficial to us instead. I think it sent a clear, concise and loud message to them that we are right on the verge of something very special. That the team they would be joining is talented, gritty, determined..they are the team-in-the-making that absolutely has every facet that, when mixed with that little bit of magic that every team needs a little bit of, is fully capable of competing for, and achieving, that one elusive crowning jewel that is the lifeblood of it all...a National Championship.

Maybe the antidepressant my doc put me on is working a little too well...but I actually do believe that we are right on that precipice that will be the deciding factor between being a legit contender, or the same-old-same-old.

This game was lost simply by inexperience. That's it. We outgained them 481-465 I think.

I mean yeah, we have to figure out what exactly our personnel dictates that we be. It seems that our team responds better to being more of a passing team rather than a ground it out team.

I have to very respectively disagree. I applaud you guys for your support but i am disgusted with the defense at the end of the season. And just the way we seem to find ways to lose.

Sometimes i think we are a marginal (at best) program historically because we fans are ok with it. Are we really playing the moral victory card against south florida? I am really not trying to troll you fine fellow fans but i am tired of us pretending that we are a five year old girls soccer team.

I said this in an earlier post somewhere. The defense wore down near the end of the season cause they carried this team for most of the year.

Am I happy with 6-7? Hell no, not even close. But I am happy with the improvement overall. I'm not a sugar coating fan, but last year we were so miserable and horrid. This year we're like 80% freshman and sophomores, I feel like next year will be a good season, but that 2018 will be the year for this group.

Well in all honesty, we the fans have little to no effect on the outcome of games. If you feel you can improve the team by all means go tryout for the team.

Being ok or disgusted with our marginal history is a personal choice that has no bearing on the program. If your disgusted don't donate money, if you feel you can help improve the program then donate money. That is about the limits of a fans influence on the athletic dept.
