Mike Davis having a better rushing average for the press to figure out he's the best RB in the SEC?

Maybe not til Florida. We play UCF, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mizzou, Mississippi State, and Arkansas before then. None of those teams are great on defense and it gives people an excuse for discounting his performances. Gurley and Yeldon will also have to hit a major rut.

Nobody is gonna say hes better than Gurley or Yeldon. Sucks but unless he starts getting 20+ carries a game he wont put up the numbers to supplant those two backs in the media

And unfortunately, he didn't gain 100 yards against Vandy. Obviously, he had a great game and had a lot of receiving yards but nothing noteworthy for the media that didn't watch the entirety of the game. He was sooo close to busting out multiple 50+ runs and he's a great blocker but none of that shows on the stat sheets.

He's averaging 5 more yards from scrimmage a game than all the other RBs in the SEC. Receiving is part of it, I'm not sure why everyone just focuses on rushing yards per game. His blocking has also been pretty solid, which I thought was supposed to be the reason he would get jumped by Wilds.
I'm more than pleased with our running game so far this year and look forward to watching it now that we're into the "easier" part of the season...

I agree with the other posters if Davis continues to romp and we go off on a winning streak which should put us back into the top 10, he'll start getting some recognition....

I hope they don't. The WPS crowd is frothing at the mouth due to their duo, so when we out-gain them in Fayettville it will be all the sweeter.
Those who pay attention already know, though. You can tell during the broadcasts and I've seen the posts already showing up on Tnet about how they missed out on him.
But I hope he, and Wilds even, continue to just go about their business putting up yards without worrying about recognition from anyone but the coaches and teammates they play for. No one else's opinion really matters in the end.

Davis is the perfect back for Spurrier's system. Very much like Fred Taylor was.
He's not gonna win the Heisman, but he is going to put-up outstanding numbers week-in and week-out. He appears to be better at making tacklers miss than Lattie was as well. Lattie was more prone to just steam roll tacklers, but he took a beating in the process. Davis is quicker, shiftier. Doesn't have the vision Lattie did but few do. Davis has better instincts in terms of moving to holes with less pressure once he is past the line of scrimmage. Lattie was just the best at finding holes and moving into the LBs and secondary where he usually shined.
