If you have a reserved spot, then whenever you feel like it. It it's first come first serve, you should be alright if you're there by 8 AM. I don't really know what the situation is with that lot though, I tagged along last year.
It's always better to get there early so I'd just plan on doing that.

Yes, the earlier the better. A couple factors working "against you", if you want to put it like that:
-First home game of the year
-First SEC game
-Big time, important game
-Against a team we've struggled with
-Spurrier
All of those factors will drive your intended arrival time earlier and earlier. I don't know if your lot is permit or first come or not, but personally I would get there no later than 8. If memory serves, I've walked by that lot fairly early before and it's still been plenty open, but all bets are off in the first game of the year, there's no telling what people will do. I'd just play it on the safe side.

Thanks for the help. Our departure time is 7:00 am, so we will see how that puts us. If anyone walks around that area, look for a black Jeep Grand Cherokee or a champagne Yukon (with Gamecock tents and stickers). That's where we will be.

Was it you that I met in Columbia in 2010? I know it was QCC and someone else.
I typically stay in my spot all day, but I'm going to walk DT and meet a buddy around lunch time. I'll swing by the lot and chug a beer with you on the way if that's cool. Btw who should I ask for? I dont' want to approach a random group of SC strangers saying "which one of yall is upstatecock?"

Blue tent on Lumpkin heading down the hill. Parked a few steps away at a dorm that has a sign that says towing enforced during the week. Think the car is safe?

Cool, thanks man. Half of the cars have a decal, half don't. Says 7am-10pm Monday thru Friday, so we are taking our chances. Appreciate the help.

Is your tent on the grass by the street or in the middle of the lot

By the street. Right by sidewalk on right before you reach Morris hall
