Serious stuff.

Seriously?

The world is upside down these days. The good guys are not always on top anymore ... just look up at Washington, DC as an example. Same in the music world where the rappers and hip hoppers control everything. Same thing in pro sports.

Being dishonest, manipulative and thuggish these days .... that stuff is worn like a badge of honor.

this post reeks of old man anger.

so besides Cam being upset in post game press conferences and having one confrontation with a ref last year, what else has Cam done to be a "thug"? Towel on the head?

Dude's name is never in the papers for off-field issues. People only point to him being, surprise, upset when the team loses, like no one else has ever been mad

We're going to have fun during the off-season with some of it, I promise.

In the meantime, everyone knows Cam has killed people, right?

Wasn't complaining about anything ... and I never yell at kids on my lawn because I've got sixty acres around me in the middle of the woods so no kids come on my lawn - or in my fields. But if they did they'd never hear me yelling .... just the growling of my dogs before being dragged down and mauled.

And there are too many men with class playing in the NFL for me to complain about the classless ones like Cammy and Haynesworth. I simply don't follow the Cammys and Haynesworths - I ignore them.

Atlanta, Washington, San Fran even ... teams with class. No Clemson connections, no thuggery. Green Bay is another class organization. KC right now. Individual players like Larry Fitzgerald for the Cardinals, I like him as a player.

so a team with Roddy White, Dan Snyder as an owner, and the whiniest coach in NFL in Jim harbaugh are classy but the Panthers are not because Cam Newton, who has pouted in post game press conferences.

got it

He's fighting the good fight right now against the progressive liberal scum bags insisting that the name be changed.

I've been a Skins fan since the late 50s when I was a kid ... only time I stopped was the couple of years when Haynesworth was there and he ran his arse off for being a scumbag thug.

So yeah, you got it.

That Super Bowl ring George Rogers wears ... that's a Redskins ring.

I'm with SCrooster on this one, and I'm much closer to Cam's demographic than his.

I'm a Falcons fan, and I was wrapped in euphoria when our "once-in-a-generation" talent was drafted 1st overall and was going to redefine the NFL. Vick kept his nose clean, said the right things, was beloved for his rare abilities, and had a signature victory against GB in the playoffs.
Then, the immaturity showed through. The me-first attitude. To say nothing of his criminal exploits.

Cam reminds me of Vick in a lot of ways. Superhuman physical skills. Unique challenges for d coordinators to handle. Strong arm, and an accurate deep ball. Unfortunately, I also think Cam shares Vick's inability to handle criticism, his overall lack of maturity, and a complete disregard for social grace. Acting like a petulant child is not an endearing quality.

But winning cures all. And so long as the Panthers win, I'm sure you'll love Cam for what he does on the field.
But when the wheels come off, and the team struggles and Cam has a meltdown over the course of a season, just don't be surprised.

If I were Richardson, I'd be sure to have a psychologist/coach follow Cam like a hawk to help him grow mentally and embrace that leadership role. Hell, maybe Cam can and will grow up and fully realize his talent and unique opportunity. I hope he does, for his own sake.

Finally, he needs to stop doing that silly TD Superman thing. It's dumb when Aaron Rogers does his stupid thing, and it's dumb when Cam does his. I wish everyone were like Connor and Marcus; just score, toss the ref the ball, and celebrate with your receivers/line on the way back to the sidelines.

Panthers are looking incredibly formidable right now. Beat 49er's, then beat the Pats, then went to Miami and had a 2 score come from behind victory. This team is the best that we've had since the mid 2000's.
