Had he stayed at State he probably goes to the CFP in 2018 with his best roster ever. Instead he leaves for Florida and is out in 3 years. The grass isn’t always greener.
What the hell happened though? He had Florida going in the right direction and something had to have happened within the program the last 1.5 years. Florida fans, what was his downfall and how did it seem to happen so quickly out of nowhere?

Inability to fire bad assistant coaches
Poor recruiting
Poor handling of QB battles (Franks vs Trask, Jones vs AR)
Just a few

Should have fired 3rd and Grantham in 2020 after the A&M game, he intimately knew grantham’s weaknesses….he stubbornly didn’t and LSU happened (and Bama and Oklahoma)
That was the beginning and ending - at the end- it appears his players dgaf what he wanted

I'm guessing that it's simply harder to hide your flaws at a program where the national microscope is always on you.
He goes to Florida and people start to notice he is an odd dude who does not like recruiting. Add to that he's been a giant d0uche with the media and it's not a recipe for success.
He could get away with most of that if he consistently wins at a championship level, but he didn't.
