How in the world did the 2021 version of Cam Newton manage to convince a team, much less the one who let him go, to pay him $10 million for half a season of football. He made a fraction of that in New England

Panthers are desperate. Cam was still injured when he signed with the Pats. After having some time to recover he's probably the healthiest he's been in a while, and when he's healthy he's still a lot better than tRant likes to make him out to be.
Plus he was still with the Panthers 3 months after Rhule was hired, so he's probably at least familiar with the playbook and he already knows and has chemistry with most of the other players on offense. It's really the best possible scenario if you have to bring in a QB mid-season

I am still shocked by the number of people that hate him. If you really take a moment to look into his life, you will see that he is a great human who loves to help those around him. Our world could use a lot more Cam Newtons.

And ignoring that Cam has 5 kids, 4 with a stripper and 1 with an Instagram model. That's about the straightest thing possible
Meanwhile Julio has no kids and has remained suspiciously "single" his entire career
