True.


And being paid anything outside of room/board/tuition makes them an athlete paid outside the school, which if the definition of a professional athlete is someone who is paid, then yes, the can be considered professional athletes.

They have always been paid at least a little, now it's out in the open. And going to cause the product on the field to suffer.
