Here’s my thoughts FWIW:

Ed LOVES LSU… like genuinely loves the school, the fans, his players, and Louisiana. And we all LOVE him for it. And growing up here, he not only understands the standards, but he feels them himself. He knows his own shortcomings and has fought like a Tiger to overcome them. He’s just fallen short, and he’s an honest enough person to admit that.

He’s not gonna destroy or sabotage the program bc he doesn’t want to let the school, fans, players, or state down. It’s a unique situation with a sincere coach who has had a string of bad luck finding coordinators and staff. And he’s honest enough to admit that he has GOT to have people who can fill in the gaps on X’s and O’s where his expertise is lacking. That’s not a slight on him… he’s readily admitted it numerous times.

In today’s situation of college football, where there is so much on the line financially, the people who have SUSTAINED success at the top programs have computer-like brains, are complete students and engineers of the game and know the game inside and out. They also have staffs that are geniuses in their own right, and are innovative and sharp as tacks. That is their LIFE. Ed knows this, and he’s worked like heck to be that… he’s just fallen a little short. BUT I give him nothing but mega props and thank-you’s for his passion and effort. Also, he gave us 2019 and for that we should always hold him in tip-top regard here. I have nothing but love for him, but he just isn’t what we have to have leading the program now.

Anyway, that’s my opinion.

He loved it so much he was wasting valuable practice time for his girlfriends kids.

But sure, now that he's been fired, LSU will certainly be his top priority.
