On a dumb-serious note:

One of my ill-advised football guy takes is that players who train/play the majority of their games on real grass gain the most speed/benefit from special games played on fieldturf.

SEC Speed is bred on that real grass September-November, and then we unleash that speed once we hit the turf in the BCS/CFP.

This, we have had more success on turf than grass the past 20 years. Our record in the GA Dome, Super Dome, Jerry World, and Reliant is 22-3 in that time frame. Lost to UGA in the SECCG in 2005, Alabama in the BCCG in 2011, and Clemson in the Peach Bowl in 2012.

Wish I had access to the speed monitors they use so I could put some more meat on this theory's bones.

This is a solid stat though, especially considering all those teams you lost to also possess majority Southern players (SEC Speed) with natural grass stadiums.
