Well first of all, gee, thanks for graciously allowing us to claim an NC in a year we were voted champions by the two major selectors of the time. That's mighty big of you.

Secondly, what I'm hearing you say is Alabama ought to also claim an NC in any year they were voted #1 by at least one selector. Damn, that's a lot of championships! Good thing our fans are such fatasses, because there's no way we are going to fit all those years on anything less than an XXXL.
