I don’t know why the Big 12 did not make a run at bringing Nebraska back to the league. I know that Nebraska is a far cry from being where they used to be but it would help both the Big 12 and Nebraska. The Big 12 needs a credible name now that Texas and OU are leaving. Nebraska needs access to fertile recruiting grounds in the state of Texas. The state of Nebraska and the surrounding states really does not produce enough top players to build a program so Nebraska really needs to be able to recruit the state of Texas hard but that’s gonna be hard to do playing in the Big 10. With the departure of Texas and OU to the SEC the door would be wide open for Nebraska to dominate the Big 12 if they could just turn things around. It could be the very thing Nebraska needs to get back on track. I think it would be worth a shot for both Nebraska and the Big 12.

About $$$$

Reason they left in the beginning. Didn’t have a thing to do with Texas

This is why message boards narratives get out of wack.
People start believing things that aren’t based on reality

Texas is the largest market for CFB
SEC didn’t want the state to be up for grabs.
They have full control of the state now.
You can do the research if you want. With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma
Texas is by far the largest state for SEC alumni.

Texas and OU not in the SEC allowed whatever conference they were in to establish a footprint.
Oklahoma just like LSU and Arkansas have a large presence in the state.

Goes back to Roy Kramer’s original plan in 1990.
Get Texas.
At that time the SEC only had a small presence through LSU and the Mississippi schools
Things have quickly changed.
