I'm all for Missouri being in the SEC, or at least don't really care. But...have you ever been to Louisiana? I was born in Baton Rouge and went back as an adult for 3 1/2 years and have family that lives there. Louisianans do NOT sound like New Yorkers.

Are you talking about a Cajun accent? That doesn't sound like New York, either.

You'll hear more Southern accents in Missouri than you will in Louisiana.

I have relative in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport. You could drop anyone of them in Brooklyn and folks would think they were natives.

And, no, I wasn't talking about the Cajuns but that's another segment of their population who don't sound Southern.
