I legitimately can’t tell if you’re being serious any more.

Just to clarify, you believe that average recruiting rankings and average seasonal outcomes are purely coincidental?

However, I fail to see its relevancy for AU football 2021, seeing as how it was from a bowl game four years ago, involving a different team with a different OC and drastically different personnel. And it could easily be argued it was a bit of a flourish in a game that was pretty much over at that point (2:32 in the 4th, already up by two scores). Its not like you pulled something like that from a competitive game.

That gif didn’t mean shite for frick. It served literally no purpose at all other than to take a quick jab for the whirly bird. That’s why it’s been so frustrating that so many people have wanted to have full blown discussions about football theory based on that gif. The literal only reason I posted it was because the spinning looks stupid.

No, average recruiting rankings with great coaching and development leads to a successful program.
High recruiting rankings and poor coaching and development leads to an average or worse program.
Great recruiting rankings (talent eval) and average coaching and development can still lead to a great program. It depends on the competition.

Gus did not develop key players and it cost him. His system got old and it cost him. His S&C was aligned to his system and it eventually cost him. Pretty simple.

I really think this is all about bammer's fear that AU might catch lighting in a bottle for the third time.

Well when 40 percent of the team comes down with Covid, or is isolated because of covid protocol, and half the season is forfeited, the scheme really won't matter will it?

All this payout money to Gus, in addition to $5 million salary, to get a coach who is a cultist and refused to do what was best for his job, players, fans... Well good for you Harsin and your "principles." Just like a couple of golfers who forfeited millions for not being vaccinated, he should be fired with cause and forfeit his millions.

PS at the trump rally yesterday, people booed when he told them to get vaccinated. dam... there are some stupid azz people, even in Alabama though most are obviously barners.

You are the textbook example of a useful idiot.
And probably dumb enough to think that what you said is "patriotic".

It will be interesting to see Auburn’s season play out. If Harsin turns in a 7-5 year with a couple of beatdowns at the hands of Bama and UGA, will they be patient with him? Or worse, if he forfeits a game or two due to Covid, will they be ok with it? Or do the PTB lose it and fire Harsin and/or Allen Greene? It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Auburn at such a crossroads for the program.

You did see AUs program in 2009 or 2013? Of course those years AU was winless in the SEC the previous year and this year AU is coming off a 6-4 SEC season with most of the team retuning. Crossroads?

Their coach is a dust bag and he is on the way out - whether they like it or not

IF Harsin is a good hire - he will control the state for a decade or more because the post Saban era will be brutal/ugly. Tide fans know this. They need Harsin to fail.

How in the absolute monkey frick are there still people 10 pages later who haven’t bothered to read what I’ve said about that shift? I played college football. I know what a fricking shift is. That has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation.

Because the smart posters here can see though your bullshite. For example, no one who played college football says "near boundary". Its boundary side or field side. We would even let you get away with short side or wide side.

Second, you are a Bama fan so you don't get it. A lot of schools out there cannot line up and "Out talent"everyone, and Auburn is one of them. When they won it all it was because they had an other worldly talent in Cam Newton, and some key pieces sprinkled in. In fact, they were the team with the lowest level recruiting classes to win a title in 25 years or more. They have to out scheme their opponents, and its likely that their Admin understands that and is hiring accordingly. Maybe they understand being wedged between Bama, LSU, and GA is a recruiting war they cannot and have not been able to win, and are addressing it realistically.

So they hire a coach who has been able to string together 10 after 10 win season with smoke and mirrors, while rising p to beat P5 opponents on the reg to do what he does at Auburn. Maybe it works and maybe it doesn't, but kudos to Auburn for trying to fight the fight their way.

There is a zero percent chance he played football at any level. He didn't know the difference between punts and punt returns, or that the safeties and corners are on them. Alabama doesn't just outtalent people though Saban worked with the psychiatry professor of Michigan State to help devlop his patented "process" It was based off Cognitive Behavioural therapy.
