"Gamer" is a word that came up when discussing DJ Lagway, a stoutly built emerging quarterback prospect from Willis (Texas) High School. Already in the 6-foot-2, 215-pound range, Lagway has three-sport experience (baseball, basketball) and averaged 4.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks on varsity as a freshman in the 2020-21 hoops campaign. As a sophomore this past fall, Lagway led Willis to a Class 6A Division II second-round playoff appearance as he threw for 1,579 yards, 17 touchdowns, and two interceptions on a 55.5 completion rate, in addition to 715 rushing yards and six scores on 5.6 yards per carry.

Lagway's size and athleticism result in serious velocity and vertical arm strength, plus big-play ability as a runner. Lagway, another Top247 candidate in the 2024 cycle, flashes off-platform, improvisational ability that serves him well. The son of a former Baylor running back, Lagway has already garnered a lengthy list of offers.
