After looking over our current 2023 commits updated rankings on the services - our WR commit Anthony Evans after being offer by Georgia was bumped on On3 to 89 grade 3-star.

We have commitments coming over the next week with recent crystal balls from Wiltfong for Luke Brown, Malachi Singleton and Vysen Lang.

Paris (Tenn.) Henry County four-star offensive lineman Luke Brown has committed to Arkansas. The 6-5, 300-pounder went public with his decision on Tuesday, becoming the 11th commitment in the Hogs’ 2023 recruiting class.

Brown chose the Razorbacks over the likes of Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and several others. He made his decision on Saturday while on Arkansas' campus but waited until Tuesday to announce it via Instagram.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Brown is the No. 258 overall prospect in the country, No. 12 among interior offensive linemen, and the No. 5 overall prospect in his home state of Tennessee.

The 247Sports rankings have Brown as the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 6 player in the Volunteer State.

Brown was recruited to Arkansas by second-year offensive line coach Cody Kennedy, who helped host Brown on his first unofficial trip to Fayetteville in March.

247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Cooper Petagna gave Brown a positive review in his thorough evaluation in February.

“Verified at 6-foot-5 and 300-pounds plus, possesses a wide frame and limited growth potential to add additional weight to his frame. Will need one or two years in a collegiate strength and conditioning program to shape his body. Displays above average athletic ability at the left tackle position.

Appears to have above average knee bend and hip flexibility in and out of his stance. Flashes some quick twitch explosiveness off the ball. Demonstrates good foot and body quickness out of his run set. Possesses adequate foot speed and quickness and his pass set, could see him transition to right tackle or inside at the next level. Appears to have above average play strength at the point of attack, flashes some ability to move defenders naturally off the line of scrimmage. Plays with a good understanding of leverage and body control. Can sustain and finish. Plays with a physicality. Flashes some ability to play in space on the perimeter and at the second level.

Big body, who is a better athlete at the tackle position than given credit for. Has the ability to play right tackle at in college or could kick inside depending on the situation. Projects as an above average starter a Power Five program at the next level.”

Paris (Tenn.) Henry County four-star 2023 offensive tackle Luke Brown is the latest to give Sam Pittman and Arkansas his pledge, announcing his commitment to the Razorbacks on Tuesday evening. He is the 11th prospect to join the fold, a class that rises from No. 5 to No. 2 in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Brown was in Fayetteville over the weekend where he told Pittman in person.

“It was a moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget,” Brown told 247Sports. “The emotion in the room was unmatched. The pride I felt from making my parents happy is something I hope everyone gets to experience some day. The whole staff welcomed me with open arms and I’m ready to start this new chapter in my life.”

Brown’s offer list also included the likes of Vanderbilt, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Virginia Tech among others.

“Arkansas is a special place,” Brown said. “Under Coach Pittman and Coach (Cody) Kennedy, I don’t know how you don’t pick Arkansas if you have the opportunity as on offensive lineman. The energy and culture that is being established is gonna have Arkansas competing for an SEC title in a few years.

“The place just felt like home, so I decided that’s where I’m going.”

Paris (Tenn.) Henry County offensive lineman Luke Brown has committed to Arkansas, he announced Tuesday on social media.

Brown is the No. 293 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 17 interior offensive lineman and the No. 6 junior in the state of Tennessee.

He named a list of eight programs as his top schools in February, but it didn’t include Arkansas. Among the contenders were Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan State, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

Another notable program missing was in-state Tennessee, which offered Brown but hasn’t recruited him as hard as the other programs.

“These eight have been on me the most and the systems most of these schools play in, I feel like that where I fit in best,” Brown told the Tennessean.

After visiting Arkansas in early March, Luke Brown visited again this past weekend, where the Razorbacks impressed him enough to get him onboard this early.

He is Arkansas’ fifth four-star commit in the 2023 cycle thus far, joining four-star tight ends Luke Hasz, Shamar Easter and Jaden Hamm, as well as cornerback Dallas Young and EDGE Quincy Rhodes Jr.

The Razorbacks hold the No. 9 class nationally, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb quarterback Malachi Singleton has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks for the Class of 2023. Singleton, 6-1, 220, went public with his decision on Monday to become the Hogs’ eleventh commitment for this year’s class.

Singleton chose the Razorbacks over offers from Georgia, Louisville, Miami, UCF, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Indiana, NC State, Virginia and several others. He was recruited to Fayetteville by offensive coordinator Kendal Briles.

"The relationship I built with the coaches really helped with this decision," Singleton said. "The offense coach Briles runs I think fits my play style perfectly, and they showed they wanted me from the beginning."

Singleton and both of his parents are expected to arrive in Fayetteville on Friday for what will be the quarterback’s third unofficial visit. Singleton’s first visit was in early November for the Hogs’ win over Mississippi State, and his second came last month for one of the Razorbacks’ prospect days.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Singleton is a three-star target, the No. 24 quarterback in the nation and the No. 39 player in the state of Georgia. 247Sports, however, has him as a four-star prospect, No. 18 among all quarterbacks and No. 19 in the Peach State.

247Sports Southeast Recruiting Analyst Andrew Ivins compared Singleton to Tahj Boyd in his thorough analysis last summer:

“A true dual-threat quarterback that has a knack for making big plays. Looks almost like a linebacker with his thicker build, but is equipped with a strong, rather accurate arm. Has plenty of experience running RPOs and is the type of quarterback that’s a threat to score almost anytime he calls his own number as he’s difficult to bring down both in the box and out in the open field. Pocket awareness a strength at this stage in his development as his internal clock will bail him out of trouble more times than not. Shows some touch on his deep shots and understands how to step into throws in order to generate velocity. Started a few games on varsity as a freshman before winning 10 games as a sophomore and then leading his team to the state playoffs as a junior in one of Georgia’s highest classifications. Won’t be a fit in some offensive systems given unconventional play style, but should thrive in an up-tempo spread attack that wants its quarterback to be more than just a game manager. Will need to keep progressing, but has what it takes to win and score points at the Power 5 level.”

In addition to Singleton, Arkansas’ 2023 class also includes a trio of four-star tight ends in Shamar Easter of Ashdown (Ark.), Luke Hasz of Bixby (Okla.), and Jaden Hamm of Eudora (Kan.), four-star defensive lineman Quincy Rhodes of North Little Rock (Ark.), three-star defensive end Kaleb James of Mansfield (Texas), three-star linebacker Everett Roussaw of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove, Carrollton (Texas) Hebron three-star edge Carson Dean, three-star cornerback Dallas Young of Gardendale (Ala.), four-star offensive lineman Luke Brown of Paris (Tenn.) Henry County, and three-star offensive lineman Joey Su'a of Bentonville (Ark.).

Arkansas’ 2023 class entered the day ranked No. 5 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC with 166.72 total points in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings. Singleton’s commitment brings the total to 176.94, which is just enough to reclaim the SEC’s top class and places Arkansas at No. 4 nationally.

2023 QB Malachi Singleton finds great fit in Arkansas

quote:

Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb quarterback Malachi Singleton knew he was Arkansas’ guy. Singleton is now fully committed to that label.

Singleton announced his commitment to the Razorbacks over UCF, Miami and Georgia on Monday. Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks’ coaching staff made Singleton feel like a priority. Pittman’s coaching style was a big factor for Singleton as well.

“They always let me know that I was their guy and I’m who they wanted,” Singleton told On3. “To me, that was really the selling point. I want to go someplace where I’m wanted as well as somewhere that fits my skill set… His (Pittman) style of coaching is really a big part of why I wanted to commit. I feel like I can thrive in that type of offense. That was huge for me.”

Arkansas saw a surge in production from their incumbent starting quarterback K.J. Jefferson. Singleton has taken note of the growth of the Razorbacks’ quarterback. Singleton says he watched almost every game the Razorbacks played last season.

He has hopes that offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and the rest of the offensive coaching staff can do something similar with him.

“The development was crazy,” Singleton said. “Coach (Kendal) Briles does a great job not only just with him, but with all the quarterbacks in that room. I thought they all got better. Just seeing what he (Jefferson) does, I feel like I can do a lot o the same things.”

quote:

Malachi Singleton got comfortable with Arkansas quickly

quote:

Singleton has seen a lot of Arkansas as of late. He’s been on campus twice in the last month.

“Every time I go it just gets better and better,” Singleton said. “The players are really cool.”

There will be a familiar face looking back at Singleton in the huddle once he reaches campus. His high school teammate Sam Mbake is a member of the Razorbacks’ 2022 class.

Singleton and Mbake have been close for years. As a result, Mbake has done some recruiting for the Razorbacks in honor of Arkansas. It’s paid off. Coincidently, both Singleton and Mbake were in Fayetteville together over the weekend.

“We had a great time, that’s one of my best friends,” Singleton said. “He’s a major part of me coming to Arkansas. He was recruiting me every day. Having somebody I already know there just makes things really good.”

Naples (Fla.) running back Isaiah Augustave has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Augustave, 6-2, 200, went public with his decision during an official visit with the Hogs on Tuesday, becoming Arkansas' 12th pledge for the Class of 2023.

The Florida native chose Arkansas over Florida State, Louisville, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and several others. He is the Razorbacks' first running back commitment for the current cycle.

He was recruited to Fayetteville by running backs coach Jimmy Smith.

As a junior, Augustave rushed 109 times for 950 yards and 16 touchdowns for a Naples team that reached the Class 6A Region 4 semi-final. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Augustave is the No. 42 running back in the nation and the No. 103 overall prospect in the state of Florida for the Class of 2023.

247Sports has him rated even higher, as the No. 30 running back in the nation and the No. 85 prospect in the Sunshine State.

Prior to Augustave's announcement, Arkansas’ 2023 class already included six offensive commitments in three-star quarterback Malachi Singleton of Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb, a trio of four-star tight ends in Shamar Easter of Ashdown (Ark.), Luke Hasz of Bixby (Okla.), and Jaden Hamm of Eudora (Kan.), four-star offensive lineman Luke Brown of Paris (Tenn.) Henry County, three-star offensive lineman Joey Su’a of Bentonville (Ark.).

The defensive class includes four-star defensive lineman Quincy Rhodes of North Little Rock (Ark.), three-star defensive end Kaleb James of Mansfield (Texas), four-star edge rusher Carson Dean of Carrollton (Texas) Hebron, three-star linebacker Everett Roussaw of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove, and three-star cornerback Dallas Young of Gardendale (Ala.).

Arkansas’ 2023 class entered the day ranked No. 7 in the nation and No. 1 in the SEC with 178.37 total points in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings. Augustave’s commitment brings the Hogs’ total to 186.50 points, which doesn't move the national or SEC ranking.

Arkansas added commitment No. 12 to its 2023 class late Tuesday night with a surprise announcement from Naples (Fla.) running back Isaiah Augustave.

Augustave, rated as a 5.6-three-star by Rivals, chose Arkansas over 21 other FBS offers including the likes of Florida State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma State and Tennessee.

After bringing in a haul of Rashod Dubinion and James Jointer in 2022 and landing a commitment from in-state Rivals250 prospect Braylen Russell for 2024, Smith has now slotted a back into the current cycle just over a month after extending an offer.

Augustave's commitment, which, save a cryptic GIF from running backs coach Jimmy Smith came relatively unexpectedly, effectively pushes Arkansas back ahead of SEC foe Tennessee and into the No. 7-spot nationally.

McKinney (Texas) safety Christian Ford has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. The 6-0, 185-pound defensive back went public with his decision on Sunday after wrapping up an official visit in Fayetteville (Ark.).

Ford chose the Hogs over TCU, Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State and several others.

"I feel like this is home and I feel like this is the place I needed to be," Ford said of his commitment. "(I told them) yesterday at dinner. Everybody was excited, everybody was cheering me on. It was a fun time."

Ford, who plays for former Arkansas defensive lineman Marcus Shavers at McKinney High, was recruited to the Hill by defensive backs coach Dominique Bowman.

"He's a great coach, he's a great coach," Ford said. "I know he's going to get me right and potentially help me make it to the NFL."

The Texas native's decision was made easy after a successful 48-hour visit in Fayetteville.

"I had a great time, made me feel like home," Ford said. "Everybody was really cool and made me feel like this is the place I needed to be. "Just hanging out with the hosts, Mani Powell and Jordan Crook."

Mableton (Ga.) Whitefield Academy two-way lineman Ian Geffrard announced his commitment to Arkansas on Monday afternoon, choosing the Razorbacks over Auburn among others.

The 6-foot-6, 350-pound Geffrard is commit No. 14 for the Razorbacks in the 2023 cycle, adding to a class that was ranked No. 9 nationally by the 247Sports Composite.

“I committed to Arkansas,” Geffrard told 247Sports before going public with his plans. He took his official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend. “My first impression of them was great, and I’ve had past interactions with Coach Pittman while he was at Georgia and he hasn’t changed since then. He was a great coach then and a great coach now.”

Geffrard also had opportunities from Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Minnesota, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Texas. The Razorbacks have everything he was looking for in a school and program.

“After seeing what Coach Pittman has done with the program, and seeing how fired up the current players were about it got me motivated to join and recruit to make the team’s class the best in the country.

“I enjoy the location and overall scene, even though it is a little far from home. I didn’t talk much with Coach Adams (the defensive line coach) before my official visit, but I spent a lot more time with him and realized I wanted him to be my coach when I play at the next level.”

Arkansas has landed a commitment from 2023 defensive back RJ Johnson of McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing. Johnson, 6-2, 180, went public with his decision on Saturday, becoming the Razorbacks' 15th verbal pledge for the current cycle.

Johnson chose Arkansas over offers from Florida, LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Duke and several others. He was recruited to Fayetteville by defensive backs coach Dominique Bowman.

Johnson made an official visit on the Hill last weekend and then took a trip to Rutgers earlier this week.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Johnson is a three-star prospect, the No. 64 athlete in the nation, and the No. 65 overall target in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2023. 247Sports offers a similar ranking, listing Johnson as the No. 67 athlete in the land and the No. 58 player in the Peach State.

Johnson is expected to play cornerback for the Razorbacks. He is Arkansas' second defensive back commitment of the week, joining McKinney (Texas) safety Christian Ford, who also made his official visit last weekend in Fayetteville.

With the addition of Johnson, Arkansas' 2023 class moves up one spot to No. 8 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC. The Razorbacks are expected to land a handful of commitments over the next few weeks.

Oxford (Miss.) linebacker Alex Sanford has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Sanford, 6-3, 240, went public with his decision on Sunday after wrapping up an official visit in Fayetteville.

Sanford chose the Hogs over offers from Ole Miss, Tennessee, Southern Miss, Troy, Arkansas State and several others. He was recruited to Arkansas by linebackers coach Michael Scherer.

"For one, me personally, I'm real family orientated," Sanford said. "Come to Arkansas and it's family everywhere. Coach Pittman he like family, Coach Scherer he's like family. The players are like family. Everybody is straight family. I'm real family orientated so it's got to be family first.

"Then the way this defense is set up for me. It's set up for linebackers to make plays. When you come here you're going to make plays. You are going to get playing time. So there's lots you are going to do here. That's why I'm coming here."

With the addition of Sanford, Arkansas' 2023 class moves ahead of Cincinnati to No. 7 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Sanford is a three-star prospect, the No. 63 linebacker in the nation, and the No. 14 overall target in the state of Mississippi. 247Sports considers him the No. 58 linebacker in the nation and the No. 8 player in Mississippi.

Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove linebacker Everett Roussaw has de-committed from the Arkansas Razorbacks. Roussaw, 6-2, 225, reopened his recruitment with an announcement via Twitter at approximately 2 p.m. central on Tuesday afternoon.

"I would like to start by thanking the University of Arkansas, and its staff for blessing me and my family with a great opportunity. I really appreciate Coach Smith and Coach Pittman for recruiting me. After prayer, talking to my family/loved ones and lots of consideration, I will be decommitting from the University of Arkansas! This is a huge decision and the most important thing is I find the best place for me. Although I am decommitting Arkansas is still one of the schools I will be considering."

Roussaw originally committed to the Razorbacks on January 23 when he turned down offers from Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri, UCF, Virginia Tech, and Charlotte. He was recruited to Fayetteville by Arkansas linebackers coach Michael Scherer and running backs coach Jimmy Smith, who served as Cedar Grove’s head coach prior to entering the college coaching ranks.

The Razorbacks added a new linebacker commitment over the weekend in Alex Sanford of Oxford (Miss.) and are still very much in the mix for another in Brad Spence of Houston (Texas) Klein Forest. Arkansas still has one linebacker committed in Carson Dean of Carrollton (Texas) Hebron.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Roussaw is a three-star recruit, the No. 77 linebacker in the nation and the No. 95 overall prospect in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2023. 247Sports has him as the nation’s No. 109 linebacker target and the No. 110 player in the Peach State.

Roussaw's decommitment drops Arkansas' team ranking to No. 8 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC for the Class of 2023. The Razorbacks are expected to sign at least 25 new additions in the 2023 cycle with a chance to go over, as there is no maximum for new signees in 2023.

Linebacker Everett Roussaw has decided to back off his pledge to Arkansas and reopen his recruitment, he announced Tuesday.

The Cedar Grove High product from Ellenwood, Ga., originally committed to the Razorbacks on Jan. 23, so the commitment lasted a little more than five months.

Despite the announcement, Roussaw said Arkansas was still among the schools he’s looking at.

“This is a huge decision and the most important thing is I find the best place for me,” Roussaw wrote on Twitter. “Although I am decommitting, Arkansas is still one of the schools I will be considering.”

Roussaw is the second player to de-commit from the Razorbacks in the 2023 class, with wide receiver Anthony Evans III being the first to do so in April.

Interestingly, the decision comes just a couple of weeks after what he described as an “amazing” official visit.

“Arkansas really laid it out,” Roussaw said. “They gave me some good hosts and I’m just very blessed to be in the opportunity, to be able to get this experience with my family. It was just different. They laid it out better than I could have expected.”

Unlike Evans, who was being pursued by the likes of Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Nebraska and was bumped up to a four-star recruit, Roussaw does not seem to have a lot of other Power Five options.

Tweeting his decision shortly before 6 a.m. CT the day after attending Junior Day in Fayetteville, Roussaw chose the Razorbacks over Louisville, Mississippi State, Missouri and Virginia Tech.

Since committing, Roussaw has continued to tweet out his offers, but they’ve been from the likes of Indiana, Duke, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, UAB, UConn and several HBCUs at the FCS level — Grambling State, Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T and Alabama State.

At the time, Arkansas had only eight commitments and only three were on the defensive side of the ball, with Roussaw being the lone linebacker. The Razorbacks have since landed 5.8 four-star Carson Dean and 5.7 three-star Alex Sanford.

With a 5.5 rating from Rivals, Roussaw was tied for the lowest-rated recruit in Arkansas’ 2023 class. Recent defensive tackle commits Ian Geffrard and Stephen Johnson are also 5.5 three-stars.

Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove linebacker Everett Roussaw committed to Arkansas late in January. The 6-foot-2, 231-pound rising senior committed to the Razorbacks over Mississippi State and other schools.

After being committed for five months, the three-star has decided to re-open his recruitment.

“I would like to start by thanking the University of Arkansas, and it’s staff for blessing me and my family with a great opportunity,” Roussaw said in a Twitter post.

“I really appreciate coach Smith and coach Pittman for recruiting me. After prayer, talking to my family/loved ones and lots of consideration. I will be decommitting from the University of Arkansas! This is a huge decision and the most important thing is I find the best place for me. Although I am decommitting Arkansas is still one of the schools I will be considering.”

Roussaw has only visited Arkansas since he committed to the Razorbacks. Schools that never stopped recruiting him are Connecticut, Louisville, and Mississippi State. He plans to start over, re-evaluate his options, and start to take visits in the fall.

Pinson (Ala.) Pinson Valley safety TJ Metcalf has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Metcalf, 6-1, 185, went public with his decision on Friday, becoming commitment No. 17 for the Hogs' 2023 recruiting class.

Metcalf chose the Razorbacks over offers from Penn State, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others. He made official visits at Arkansas (June 10) and Penn State (June 24) prior to reaching his decision.

Metcalf was recruited to Fayetteville by first-year defensive backs coach Dominique Bowman. He also made an unofficial trip to Fayetteville on March 12 along with his brother Tevis Metcalf, a 2024 athlete who also holds an offer from the Hogs.

The brothers are cousins of Seattle Seahawks standout wide receiver DK Metcalf.

As a junior, TJ recorded 115 tackles, 4 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 8 pass break-ups.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, TJ is a three-star prospect, the No. 49 safety in the nation and the No. 24 player in the state of Alabama. 247Sports gives him a higher ranking, as the No. 44 safety in the nation and No. 22 in Alabama.

Arkansas' team ranking rises to 218.51 total points with the addition of Metcalf, good for No. 6 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The Razorbacks rank fifth nationally per 247Sports.

Bixby (Okla.) athlete Dylan Hasz has verbally committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Hasz, 5-11, 180, went public with his decision Friday evening, becoming the Hogs' 18th commitment for the Class of 2023.

He chose the Razorbacks over offers from Air Force, Navy, Northern Colorado, Pittsburg State, South Dakota, and Tulsa. Hasz is the twin brother of current Arkansas commitment and four-star tight end Luke Hasz.

Dylan Hasz, who is considered a safety on the Razorbacks' board, was recruited to Arkansas by tight ends coach Dowell Loggains and defensive backs coach Dominique Bowman.

Dylan was offered by the Hogs on June 2 and made an official visit in Fayetteville on June 24, one week after his brother's official visit on the Hill. The Hasz brothers' older sister attended the UA in Fayetteville, and their parents are season ticket holders for Razorback men's basketball.

East St. Louis (Ill.) offensive lineman Paris Patterson has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Patterson, 6-6, 345, went public with his decision at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, July 4, becoming Arkansas' 19th verbal commitment for the Class of 2023.

He chose the Hogs over finalists Missouri, LSU, Nebraska, Jackson State and Tennessee. Patterson's offer list also included Iowa State, Miami (Ohio), North Alabama, Northern Illinois, Northwestern State, Tulane, Tulsa, and Western Michigan.

Patterson was recruited to Fayetteville by offensive line coach Cody Kennedy, who now holds three offensive line commitments in this year's class including Patterson, four-star Luke Brown of Paris (Tenn.) Henry County, and three-star Joey Su'a of Bentonville (Ark.).

"I just always admired Coach Pitt (Sam Pittman) and I like what Coach (Cody) Kennedy is doing here so far," Patterson said. "It's a win-win."

Patterson was offered by the Razorbacks after attending a camp in Fayetteville on June 22, then returned two days later with his family to begin an official visit with the Hogs.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Patterson is a three-star prospect, No. 492 nationally, No. 33 among all interior offensive linemen, and No. 8 in his home state of Illinois. 247Sports ranks Patterson higher, as the No. 27 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 7 player in Illinois.

Arkansas' class is up to 219.68 total points following Patterson's pledge, good for seventh in the nation and second in the SEC behind Georgia. The Razorbacks could get more good news on July 4 as four-star wide receiver Micah Tease of Tulsa (Okla.) Washington is set to announce his college decision at approximately 7 p.m.

Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington four-star wide receiver Micah Tease has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Tease, 5-11, 180, went public with his decision on CBSSPORTS HQ shortly after 7 p.m. on July 4, becoming the Hogs' 20th commitment for the Class of 2023.

Tease is Arkansas' second verbal pledge of the day, joining East St. Louis (Ill.) three-star offensive lineman Paris Patterson, who went public with his commitment at approximately 5 p.m.

Tease was recruited to the Hill by wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton. He is the Razorbacks' first wide receiver commitment in this year's class.

The Tulsa native made several unofficial trips to Fayetteville this spring with his close friend and Arkansas tight end commitment Luke Hasz of Bixby (Okla.). Tease was back in Fayetteville for an official visit on the weekend of June 24. He also made official visits at Notre Dame and USC earlier in June.

Tease's offer list also included Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida, Iowa State, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, TCU and many others.

Tease's commitment gives Arkansas two of the top four players in the state of Oklahoma for this year's cycle, as Hasz is rated No. 2 in the state while Tease sits at No. 4 per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The addition of Patterson and Tease on Monday moves Arkansas' class past Georgia to No. 6 in the nation and No. 1 in the SEC.

Frisco (Texas) Lone Star four-star cornerback Jaylon Braxton has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Braxton, 5-11, 170, went public with his decision at just after midnight on Saturday to become the Hogs' 21st commitment for the Class of 2023.

Braxton chose the Hogs over offers from Baylor, Miami, Michigan State, LSU, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, TCU, Stanford, Utah and several others. He was recruited to Fayetteville by first-year Arkansas defensive backs coach Dominique Bowman.

Jaylon Braxton thought he might’ve stumbled into an easy decision earlier this summer. After further consideration, however, the talented four-star defensive back realized that time was on his side.

Braxton, the nation’s No. 19-rated cornerback out of Frisco (Texas) Lone Star, committed to Arkansas on his mother’s birthday on Saturday. The On300 standout briefly committed to Michigan State while on an official visit to East Lansing last month, but reopened his recruitment not too long after. Baylor and Miami were other finalists for Braxton, who had a clearer vision toward Fayetteville after wrapping up his four summer official visits.

“When I committed to Michigan State, I was thinking more for myself,” Braxton told On3. “When I look at Arkansas, I see the best situation for me and for my family. They’ll be able to get to my games and be in the stands. I’m closer to home and Arkansas was better for me and my family and was the best opportunity for me.”

“I had more time to evaluate all the schools I visited and compare the good things and the bad things, where I fit in the best and where I think I’ll fit in the best,” he added.

Braxton had been to Arkansas on a handful of occasions this offseason, including during the spring as well as an official visit last month. Several members of the coaching staff made impressions on one of the Lone Star State’s best defensive backs from Sam Pittman to Barry Odum to Dominique Bowman.

“Coach Bowman is one of the best defensive backs coaches, if not the best, in the country,” Braxton started. “He was the only DB coach of any schools I visited to put something on the board and show me something new. He showed me different techniques. My dad trains NFL DBs and he showed my dad something he never heard of before.

“Coach Bowman is a great coach with a lot of confidence. He’s not a quiet guy and when you work with DBs, you can’t be quiet. I like how he is and what he’s doing with his confidence. He’s someone you can actually talk to and he can show you.”

Braxton is equally as high on Pittman and Odum as coaches and leaders away from the field.

“When you meet with head coaches, there’s tension in the room. With him, he’s laid-back at ease,” he said of the Head Hog. “That says a lot. He’s a former OL coach and O-linemen naturally get overlooked. They’re looking out for everyone and no one is really looking at you. As a head coach, that says he’s gonna look out for everyone and make sure you’re alright.”

“Coach Odum has been a head coach before and he knows what he’s doing,” Braxton continued. “He’s gonna mix it up and be multiple on defense and get me ready for the NFL. One question we asked on our visit was about which coach could represent Arkansas besides Pittman and most of the guys said Odum. That shows he’s not just a football coach and outside of football, he’s gonna be there for you.”

Braxton is the No. 271 overall player in the country on the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Augustave, who recently earned an invite to Under Armour's All-America Game, looks the part as he’s close to 6-foot-2 and has plenty of growth potential for someone that’s already pushing 200 pounds. He's currently committed to Arkansas, but noted that FSU coaches have reached out in recent weeks. Miami is also believed to be interested in the rising senior.

Houston (Texas) Klein Forest linebacker Brad Spence has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Spence, 6-2, 225, went public with his decision on Tuesday afternoon to become the Hogs' 22nd verbal commitment for the Class of 2023.

Spence chose the Razorbacks over finalists California and Texas while also holding offers from Wisconsin, Nebraska, Mississippi State, California, Louisville, Utah and several others. He made official visits at Arkansas (June 10-12) and Cal (June 17-19) before reaching a decision.

Spence was recruited to Fayetteville by linebackers coach Michael Scherer and is projected to play linebacker for the Hogs.

As a sophomore, Spence recorded 72 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 6 pass break-ups and a fumble recovery.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Spence is the No. 60 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 132 overall prospect in the state of Texas. 247Sports has him as the No. 90 edge rusher nationally and No. 178 in Texas.

Arkansas' team ranking rises to 234.14 total points with the addition of Spence, good for No. 8 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The Razorbacks rank seventh nationally per 247Sports.
