Fun fact, Texas fans, still to this day, believe saban was leaving Alabama for Texas around the time Mack was going to retire.

The story goes that the shorthorns tried to give him 10 million reasons to do so. BAMA had no buyout on Saban's side of the contract. He could have walked without owing Alabama a dime. The only thing that kept him, or keeps him in Tuscaloosa is a personal choice.
