Georgia Tech: 11-0-1 (Coaches)
1991
Miami: 12-0 (AP)
Washington: 12-0 (Coaches)
1997
Michigan: 12-0 (AP)
Nebraska: 13-0 (Coaches)
The split championships of 1990 and 1991 directly led to the creation of the Bowl Championship Series and its predecessors.
