I mean I don't disagree, but schools in the Big Ten and Pac 12 that recruit nationally already come into Texas and take top talent. I personally think Texas is best off as a independent if the new landscape allows it. Now if it doesn't then yes Texas would be foolish not to look for the SEC.

Just speaking from experience Texas is a terrible business partner and just overall terrible to be around. Texas is the fat middle aged woman that still thinks she's hot shite from highschool. Hopefully they come in and fall right into the middle/bottom tier where they belong. Maybe get humbled a little bit who knows.

If I were aTm I would rather be able to face them head to head on the football field and in recruiting under the same conference than risk being relegated to being the "other" team in a state culturally dominated by a now elite conference that you are not in.

Being the only SEC Texas team has its advantages when the other Texas schools play in a shite conference, but it may not be so advantageous if the State of Texas becomes primarily a Big Ten dominated state and the Big Ten is now just as good or better than the SEC. You might find yourselves feeling like a Georgia Tech where no one cares about you in Texas except for yourselves.
