Texas is obviously a national brand but there is something to be said that brand overexposure in the 00’s combined with coaches that have been hard to like (the current recovering alcoholic, the previous douchebag, etc.) combined with arrogance every time they are close to success (“We are back!”) has made them a team that has been easy to root against nationally for the last decade. Maybe the country’s biggest anti-hero that hasn’t made the playoffs yet, a title that should be going to a Miami or a USC.

And before anyone points out that Aggie fans shouldn’t talk, this is one time when our lower national profile has served us well. We have been seen as a “new” thing in the SEC, and JFF was easy to like and Jimbo is hard not to respect. It’s different.
