LM has no say in the payroll per SEC law.

A lot of people don't understand this relationship. I've copied a few snippets from a 2015 article that explains it better than I could. LINK

Braves Holdings LLC is a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation. Braves Holdings LLC indirectly owns the Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball club, the Atlanta Braves' stadium and associated real estate projects (The Battery).

Liberty Media is legally not allowed to inject or withdraw cash to/from the Braves.

Liberty Media has virtually no involvement with the club; the team operates as a stand-alone entity, surviving or failing based on its own revenues generated.

Liberty Media stays out of the way and lets the baseball people run the baseball team. They are ‘hands off’ owners, partly by design to protect the franchise.

That's also a detriment. They can't overspend on CapEx/OpEx as they are publicly traded and have to meet certain shareholder criteria.

The reason sole-ownerships do well is, they are OK taking a loss on up-front spend. The Braves are a P&L. They will spend only enough to ensure profitability.

If you're OK with that, we've got bigger issues. This fanbase is getting hoodwinked and LM needs to sell immediately. Don't even ask me, ask Chipper Jones. They're absentee, and I loathe anyone that thinks this structure is conducive to a World Series title, which, is the only reason we're f***ing here, I hope.
