People have wanted to blow the NCAA up for decades now.
The day of reckoning is upon us.
It's time to blow the whole thing up and start over from scratch.
Eliminate every archaic rule.

They can make money from new NIL rules but that won't stop them from opting out and getting ready for the bigger payday of professional sports.

Coaches are no different, with these rules, they are all in for the payday. Coaches today are mercenaries, in it for the next big gig. These rules threaten their livelihood and the big dogs will become even bigger while the teams chasing them try to keep up.

An equitable playing field is thrown out the window going forward. The fan reaction will be the key and how many say enough is enough.

Mostly because they are dumb, don't realize what the NCAA actually is, and as usual never begin to really look at the consequences of their narrow minded actions.

This won't affect coaches pay. It may possibly undermine the coaches authority when the kid is more worried about fulfilling his Nike contract than studying the playbook, but coaches salaries are still going to be high.

I don't have high hopes. I never seen people mention all the scholarships they create, the money they spend for them, or any of that. It's always just revenue and coaches salaries.

I hadn't thought about it. They might not as easily be able to opt-out as employees. If the contract is big enough the employers/payers should put a no opt-out clause in there. Of course, the player still can opt-out, he will just be subject to legal action.
