This is a weird take. LSU has been competitive, but the reality is:

LSU is 1-9 against Alabama in the past 10 games.

Ole Miss has 2 wins in that time, double LSU.

Auburn has 3. Yet, they are the ones that need the roller coaster climb?

I agree that it is a bit of stretch with that take.

However, I think part of the reasoning behind it is that LSU-Bama have BOTH been ranked Top 5 in 6 of the matchups during this time period. No other regular season CFB matchup can even hold a candle to that in this time frame. While matchup wise Bama has dominated, on paper LSU is the team that should've been their biggest test all year before the CFP. And it's not like every single one of these games were complete blowouts.
