I think there is something to be said for this. I think Alan Dunn kind of saw this, but he still had issues with finding pure strike throwers. A guy with stuff like Hilliard that can throw strikes more consistently than Hilliard did would win a lot of games in the SEC.

Conversely I think this is why you see more upper class SEC players able to layoff hard sliders that break out of the zone more than some others.
