Baseball is a game of statistics that bare out over a period of time. Most kids can field a ball or make a throw. Most can find a way to get on base. Pitching can't be hidden though.

Football has become about stats, but at the lower levels. It's obvious which kids have it and which don't. Plus you sub a whole lot more in football.

Really, the travel ball version for football is spent on 7x7 leagues and travel. Which is worth it for a young qb and his wrs. But it's still not 8-10 years of expensive travel baseball, which has become more like hockey leagues/tournaments than the little league we played.
